Here are your 606HL Three Stars of the Night:

FIRST STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Ib10
ILYA BRYZGALOV
(Fumblesaurus Rex)

A very good night of goaltending from The Bryz saw him stop 55 out of 58 shots, as the Rex secured 3pts out of 4.

SECOND STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Nb10
NICKLAS BACKSTROM
(Fairytale Buttercups)

2 goals, 3 assists and a shootout winner for the handsome Swede. He was ably assisted by Nicklas Lidstrom and Marian Hossa, but there is no doubt - that mullet led the Cups last night.

THIRD STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Mf10
MIKE FISHER
(Knights of Columbus)

Just shaded 3rd star honours ahead of Rick Nash, as his 2 goal, 2 assist night had a +3 attached, compared to Nash's +2. Yet another solid night from the poorer half of Fisherwood.

Honorable mentions:
Vincent LeCavalier had the night's only hat-trick, but still ended up on the wrong side of 2pts; the Buttercups conceded 10 goals in 2 games, but still walked away with 3pts. Marian Hossa and Nicklas Lidstrom scored 4pt nights; Rick Nash also scored a 4pt night for the Badgers; a third of all games went to the shootout, including the Ducks' 9th-round win against the Shamrocks; the Capitals' Henrik Lundqvist secured the night's only shutout, a 23-save effort against the Chops; and finally, tonight's fight watch - Roman Hamrlik drew with Zdeno Chars, Marek Zidlicky drew with Zach Bogosian, Mike Commodore drew with James Wisniewski, Sean Bergenheim beat Corey Perry, Matt Green beat Jason Spezza (who responded with a 2-assist night), and a mass brawl broke out in the Ducks-Shamrocks game:

14:31 of 2nd period - Kyle Calder and Cory Sarich fight to a draw.
14:31 of 2nd period - Penalty to Kyle Calder for Fighting.
14:31 of 2nd period - Penalty to Cory Sarich for Fighting.
14:31 of 2nd period - Jerred Smithson and Jason Arnott fight to a draw.
14:31 of 2nd period - Penalty to Jerred Smithson for Fighting.
14:31 of 2nd period - Penalty to Jason Arnott for Fighting.
14:31 of 2nd period - Mark Streit beats up Mathieu Dandenault.
14:31 of 2nd period - Penalty to Mathieu Dandenault for Fighting.
14:31 of 2nd period - Penalty to Mark Streit for Fighting.
14:31 of 2nd period - Minor Penalty to Brett Clark for Charging.
14:31 of 2nd period - Minor Penalty to Simon Gagne for Roughing.
14:31 of 2nd period - Minor Penalty to Filip Kuba for Tripping.
Dishonorable mentions:
Tonight's ejections - usual suspect Jarko Ruutu, and uncharacteristically, Mattias Ohlund. Ohlund made a nasty hit from behind, while Ruutu nearly took Jonathan Toews's head clean off. Better luck next time Jarko; the Iowa Chops went 0-for-10 on the PP against the Capitals; and saw ugly -3 ratings for its top line of Crosby et al.

Did you know?:
It was a bad night for powerplays across the league, as the total PPs saw just 22 conversions out of 150 chances. That's just 14.67%, stat fans Shocked

Here are your 606HL Three Stars of the Night for Days 16, 17 and 18:

FIRST STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Dw10
DENNIS WIDEMAN
(Fumblesaurus Rex)

On a night where 'depth scoring' was the league's motto, Wideman came up with 2 big games for the rex. 3 goals, 3 assists, a +2 rating, 2 hits and 2 blocked shots saw Wideman justify his moniker 'Mr Everything'.

SECOND STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Mr10
MIKE RICHARDS
(Fumblesaurus Rex)

2 games, 2 goals, with 3 assists and a +2 rating on the side. On a night where exceptional individual performances were rare, Richards put in two solid games, and warranted this selection over others with lesser numbers from 1 game alone.

THIRD STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Jt10
JOE THORNTON
(Vancouver Schmucks)

There were several 4 point nights - but Jumbo Joe scored all 4 points in one game against the Spirit, being blanked against KoC. 1 goal and 3 assists gave the Schmucks their first win in 5.

Honorable mentions:
Of the seven teams that played twice, only the Rex and Shamrocks won both games; the Shamrocks were indebted to a 10-save Ryan Miller shutout for one of those victories; Martin Biron had a 2-period, 24-save shutout to lead KoC past the Schmucks; Derek Roy scored a hat-trick for the Capitals, but those were his side's only goals as they succumbed to a 4-3 defeat to the Chops; Roberto Luongo saved 70/75 shots for the Chops; Daniel Winnik thrashed Mikko Koivu, sending Danish people everywhere into joyous celebration; other 4pt nights included Kimmo Timmonen, Rene Bourque, David Krejci and Patrick Kane.

Dishonorable mentions:
Stop-start game of the night was at the Schmucks, as their game against KoC saw a whopping 118 face-offs; Kyle Okposo picked up a 1-game suspension for unsportsmanlike conduct; the Penguins and Shamrocks should be ashamed of themselves, as their match saw 4 fights and a whole lot of trouble:

16:42 of 1st period - Major / Game Misconduct Penalty to Matt Greene for Unsportsmanlike conduct.
16:42 of 1st period - Matt Greene is ejected from game.

12:28 of 2nd period - Penalty to Cory Sarich for instigated a fight.
12:28 of 2nd period - Cory Sarich is ejected from game.

16:26 of 2nd period - Penalty to Mikko Koivu for Fighting.
16:26 of 2nd period - Penalty to Daniel Winnik for instigated a fight.

Here are your 606HL Three Stars of the Night for Days 19, 20 and 21:

FIRST STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Rk10
RYAN KESLER
(Vancouver Schmucks)

On a second consecutive night of low scoring league-wide, Ryan Kesler dominated the Monsters and scored against the Forerunners - this gave him 2 goals, 3 assists, a +3 rating and 4 hits over the two games. He was one of only two players to notch a 5-point night (Vaclav Prospal being the other one).

SECOND STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Nb11
NICKLAS BACKSTROM
(Fairytale Buttercups)

Backstrom scored the night's only hat-trick, leading his side past the Ducks - while in the process becoming the first player this season to earn two Three Star nominations.

THIRD STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Vp10
VACLAV PROSPAL
(Duck a l'orange)

Prospal turned playmaker tonight, posting 5 assists (including a 4-assist game vs the Crunch). This was still for naught, as the Ducks lost both games.

Honorable mentions:
Five teams played twice - only the Cherrypickers won both games; Dennis Wideman and Mike Richards continued their fine form, posting 1-1-2 nights apiece for the Rex; Zach Bogosian scored his first two goals of the season; Jiri Hudler put up 3 assists against the Chops; Beefs D-man Duncan Keith fired in 10 shots against the Caps, scoring twice; four Schmucks had 3-point games against the Monsters - with Kesler notching 4 points as well; Alex Burrows had 1 goal, 3 assists, a +3 rating, 13 PIMS, 8 hits and 2 blocked shots over the Schmucks' two games.

Dishonorable mentions:
PP woes continued for the Chops, as they went 0-for-9; the Buttercusps bettered that record in going 0-for-10; in a low-scoring night there were few villains - Matt Greene wins the honours tonight, after being ejected from the Penguins' rivalry match after beating up Daniel Winnik. Rumours abound that Greene got a few sucker punches in while Winnik was signing autographs for some front-row Danish fans.

Did you know?:
Plenty of fights tonight - Alex Burrows drew with Bryan Allen, Joe Thornton drew with Ian Laperriere, Joni Pitkanen drew with Mike Komisarek, Jordan Staal beat Ryan Clowe - and fresh off beating up Mikko Koivu, Daniel Winnik was downed by the Penguins' behemoth Matt Greene.

Season Leaders:

3pts - Dennis Wideman
3pts - Drew Doughty
3pts - Ilya Bryzgalov
3pts - Milan Michalek
3pts - Nicklas Backstrom
3pts - Rick Nash
3pts - Roberto Luongo

Here are your 606HL Three Stars of the Night for Days 22, 23 and 24:

FIRST STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Dd11
DREW DOUGHTY
(Vancouver Schmucks)

On a night where solo performances were common, D man Doughty produced a mighty 5-point performance against the Monsters. 1 goal, 4 assists, a +4 rating and 2 hits gave the Monsters GM a screaming headache.

SECOND STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Pb10
PATRICE BERGERON
(Forerunners)

Bergeron had a hand in all four Forerunners goals against the Spirit, including scoring the GWG and adding another goal in his team's other match. It was this that gave him 2nd star honours over Pavel Datsyuk, who also posted 2 goals and 2 assists in a game and an additional goal.

THIRD STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Rm10
RYAN MILLER
(Boston Shamrocks)

Miller posted his second shutout of the season with a fine 26-save performance against defending champs the Beefs.

Honorable mentions:
Mikael Tellqvist stopped 24 of 25 shots to limit the Giraffesto just a 4-2 win; Nicklas Backstrom continued his fine form with another three points for the Buttercups; Joe Thornton posted 4 points in the Schmucks' second rout of the Monsters; Simon Gagne and Stephen Weiss of the Shamrocks both had 4-point nights.

Dishonorable mentions:
Eight teams played twice - only the Shamrocks and the Sharks won both games; Game 93 saw the Beefs get shutout by the Penguins, as well as three ejections - Justin Williams and Todd White of the Penguins, and Ville Peltonen for the Beefs; this was easily the most boring night of the 606HL season so far - only one game saw a fight (Penguins vs Beefs), PIMS were scarce (bar the Pens-Beefs game), and scoring was low (bar the Schmucks-Monsters game). Perhaps the players were looking forward to their Christmas turkey, and not wanting to injure their 'eating' arms? santa

Did you know?:
The Boston Shamrocks are the early season leaders - however the Swansea Sharks have the best PCT, having gone 7-1-1 over 9 games to stand just 3pts down on the Shamrocks with 3 games in hand; KoC affiliate Farm Team 2 lead the minor league standings.

Season Leaders:

6pts - Drew Doughty
4pts - Nicklas Backstrom
3pts - Dennis Wideman
3pts - Ilya Bryzgalov
3pts - Milan Michalek
3pts - Rick Nash
3pts - Roberto Luongo
3pts - Ryan Kesler
2pts - Denis Grebeshkov
2pts - Evgeni Malkin
2pts - Ilya Kovalchuk

Here are your 606HL Three Stars of the Night for Days 25, 26 and 27:

FIRST STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Hs10
HENRIK SEDIN
(Nottingham Penguins)

Henrik may have struggled without his brother alongside him this season, but a 4-goal, 2-assist night made it the season's first 6-point evening. He scored a hat-trick against the Victory and posted a goal and 2 assists in the Penguins' other game.

SECOND STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Zp10
ZACH PARISE
(McGuire's Monsters)

Four goals and an assist, including a hat-trick against the DLMS, gives Parise his second star of the season. His team may have struggled in recent times, but is this the start of a revival?

THIRD STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Sw10
SHEA WEBER
(McGuire's Monsters)

Weber posted one goal and a whopping five assists in the Monsters' two games, giving him only the second six-point night of the season so far. Henrik Sedin's being the first!

Honorable mentions:
Of the eight teams that played twice, only the Penguins won both games; Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers posted the night's only shutout with a 26-save effort for the Beefs over the Badgers; Stephen Weiss had a 5-point night for the Shamrocks; Joe Thornton had a fantasy owners' dream of a game against the Rex - 2 goals, an assist, 17 PIMS, +1, 3 shots, 13/20 in FOs and 3 hits; all but 3 Beefs players were positive in +/- - Marcel Goc, Radek Bonk and Ville Peltonen were evens.

Dishonorable mentions:
Both goalies were pulled in the Giraffes vs Monsters game; there were four ejections in tonight's games but no fights - Rob Scuderi (Victory), Joe Thornton (Schmucks), Ilya Kovalchuk (Ducks) and Matt Greene (Penguins) all lost valuable ice time for their teams.

Did you know?:
The Giraffes had a big offensive night with 11 goals, thanks to 4-point nights from Alex Semin and Maxim Afinogenov and a 5-point contribution from Jeff Carter. They can consider themselves unlucky to miss out on the night's three star honours.

Season Leaders:

6pts - Drew Doughty
4pts - Nicklas Backstrom
3pts - Dennis Wideman
3pts - Henrik Sedin
3pts - Ilya Bryzgalov
3pts - Milan Michalek
3pts - Rick Nash

Here are your 606HL Three Stars of the Night for Days 28, 29 and 30:

FIRST STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Rm10
RYAN MILLER
(Boston Shamrocks)

On a night dominated by strong goalie performances, Miller posted 33 saves for the only shutout of the night - his third of the season. The Shamrocks have a goalie on fire.

SECOND STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Co10
CHRIS OSGOOD
(St Louis Spirit)

Ozzy stopped 47/48 shots he faced over two games, but he couldn't post that elusive shutout.

THIRD STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Mk10
MIKKO KOIVU
(Nottingham Penguins)

A night after his teammates ran rampant for 11 goals, Koivu led the Pens to a 4-2 win with a goal and two assists. Not only that, but he added a +1 rating, 4 PIMS, 3 shots, 4 hits and 13/20 FOs to cap a very complete performance.

Honorable mentions:
Three teams played twice - none of them won both games; just one fight tonight, where Lee Stempniak and Craig Rivet tussled to a draw; the Bulin Wall stood tall for the Monsters tonight, stopping 57/61 shots faced; the Stevenage Beefs continued their recent strong play behind two-goal Paul Stastny and three-assist Tom Gilbert.

Dishonorable mentions:
Alex Ovechkin has now opened the season with zero goals in ten games; the Eskimos continued their pointless run, with 0-9 and 0-10 losses to the Mice and the Mongooses. John Tavares posted 5 assists for the Mice, and Dimitri Kulikov posted two goals and three assists for the Mongooses.

Did you know?:
Veteran Keith Tkachuk fell victim to 606HL Commissioner MC Homer's Wheel of Injustice, picking up a 3-game ban for his ejection against the Badgers.

Season Leaders:

6pts - Drew Doughty
4pts - Nicklas Backstrom

Here are your 606HL Three Stars of the Night for Days 31, 32 and 33:

FIRST STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Zsw10
SHEA WEBER
(McGuire's Monsters)

Another six-point night in the 606HL, as Shea Weber posted two goals and four assists for the Monsters.

SECOND STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Zmr10
MIKE RICHARDS
(Fumblesaurus Rex)

Richards had the night's only hat-trick in hsi side's losing effort against the Schmucks; he also added an assist for a 3-1-4 evening.

THIRD STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Zrg10
RYAN GETZLAF
(McBuck Cherrypickers)

Getzlaf posted one goal and four assists, along with a +3 rating, to lead his side to a four-point maximum haul from their two games.

Honorable mentions:
A whopping ten teams played twice - yet only the Cherrypickers picked up the maximum four points; four-point nights across the league for Zach Parise (Monsters), Eric Staal (Cherrypickers), Ilya Kovalchuk (Ducks), Pavel Datsyuk (Ducks) and Stephen Weiss (Shamrocks); Josh Harding made 39/40 saves for the Victory against the Chops; Penguins D-man Dan Boyle posted three goals in two games, and also won second prize in a Desperate Dan look-alike competition.

Dishonorable mentions:
Fairytale Buttercups forwards #DanEllisproblems; the Bearded Badgers' bad luck continues, putting them on a 5-game losing streak; Jack Johnson was the night's only injury, picking up a sprained right knee for the Victory; there were fifteen games across the league but alas, no shutouts; in the last nine game days there has been just one fight across the league. Where has the pride gone from our game?.

Did you know?:
After 12 games, Alex Ovechkin finally opened his season account for the Swansea Sharks.

Season Leaders:

Here are your 606HL Three Stars of the Night for Days 34, 35 and 36:

FIRST STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Zjc10
JEFF CARTER
(Moose Jaw Giraffes)

Three goals, two assists and a +2 rating on a team that scored just 6 goals - The Jazzman will be blowing his own trumpet after scoring first star honours.

SECOND STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Zle10
LOUI ERIKSSON
(Forerunners)

Three goals and an assist for Loui Loui, despite his team scoring just 5 goals over two games.

THIRD STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Zss10
STEVEN STAMKOS
(DLMS)

Stamkos scored three goals and added two helpers. What a nose on this kid!

Honorable mentions:
7 teams played twice - the Beefs, Badgers and Cherrypickers all won their two games. The Cherries won 8-4 in their Rivalry match against the Sharks; the Forerunners got unlucky, picking up two serious injuries in one game - Randy Jones (broken left foot) and Andy Sutton (right eye) will miss some time; the Cups' Sergei Gonchar also picked up a strained left elbow; Josh Harding stopped 39/41 shots for the Victory against the Pens; only three Cherrypickers failed to notch a point over the two wins - Jonathan Cheechoo, Mike Grier and Kurt Sauer; Dany Heatley led the Beefs with 2 goals and 2 assists, Alex Semin scored 5 points for the Giraffes, and Mikhail Grabovski also scored 5 points as the Cherrypickers spread their scoring.

Dishonorable mentions:
Mike Richards went from hero to villain - last night's second star instigated a fight after 47 seconds of the Rex's match against the DLMS, got beaten to a bloody pulp by Jan Polak, and was summarily ejected from the game; the entire 606HL was rooting for Braydon Coburn when he took on Chris Pronger, but it ended a tame draw; the Beefs and Ducks scrapped in their Rivalry game, seeing one general melee in which Ruslan Fedotenko drew with Greg Zanon, and another scrap later when heavyweights Mike Commodore and Jarome Iginla traded blows in a colourful draw.

Did you know?:
The Mice beat the Eskimos 10-2 down on the farm - they lead the season series 4-0 and by a mammoth 33-5 score differential. In the Mice's other 13 games they have scored a mere 39 goals Shocked

Season Leaders:

6pts - Drew Doughty

I want you to have Loui. He always does the business against me, I'm just lucky Jazzy Jeff and the Russians turned up last night!

Here are your 606HL Three Stars of the Night for Days 37, 38 and 39:

FIRST STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Zpd10
PAVEL DATSYUK
(Duck a'lorange)

The Deke-meister potted two pairs of goals alongside a +3 rating, as the Ducks put up two strong performances.

SECOND STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Zmg10
MIKE GREEN
(Iowa Chops)

Green scored three goals against the defending champs the Beefs - not bad for a D-man. He also ended +2.

THIRD STAR
606HL Three Stars - Page 2 Zmr11
MIKE RICHARDS
(Fumblesaurus Rex)

Back to hero for Richards - one goal and three assists in the Rex's only game of the night.

Honorable mentions:
Four teams played twice - only the Shamrocks won both games; the Beefs and the Chops shared their two rivalry games; Dan Ellis posted a 21-save shutout for the Ducks against the Caps. So much for #DanEllisproblems; the Shamrocks were led by Mark Streit (1-3-4) and Slava Kozlov (3-1-4); Patrick Elias had 5 assists for the Ducks, while Ilya Kovalchuk posted 4 helpers; Duncan Keith was the Beefs' main threat, posting 1-3-4 against the Chops.

Dishonorable mentions:
Bag skates all round for the Ducks and Caps - the two combined to waste 15/15 Powerplay chances in their match; the Fairytale Buttercups went with an injured Sergei Gonchar, only to see him fall to a strained right arm; Brandon Dubinsky was ejected for head-butting Jarret Stoll - 606HL Commissioner MC Homer will spin his Wheel of Injustice, but will hopefully land on medal and honorary knighthood'; hotshot goalie Ryan Miller conceded 3 goals on 4 shots before being pulled by the Shamrocks against the Ducks; Craig Conroy was a -4 for the Buttercups.

Did you know?:
The Schmucks vs KoC match saw a total of 19 Powerplay chances - 38/60 game minutes were shorthanded minutes Shocked

Season Leaders:

6pts - Drew Doughty
5pts - Mike Richards
4pts - Nicklas Backstrom, Ryan Miller, Shea Weber, Mike Green
3pts - Dennis Wideman, Henrik Sedin, Ilya Bryzgalov, Jeff Carter, Milan Michalek, Pavel Datsyuk, Rick Nash, Roberto Luongo, Ryan Kesler, Zach Parise
2pts - Chris Osgood, Denis Grebeshkov, Evgeni Malkin, Ilya Kovalchuk, Loui Eriksson, Patrice Bergeron

On the subject of crazy amount of penalties, I've worked out that in the Sharks last 2 games we spent 65 minutes on the PK with 29 penalties... Unsurprisingly they were both losses Sad
