Baby Beefs win big game but at what cost.
The Baby Beefs took one step towards the Conference final last night with a huge 3-2 OT win against the Canards. However it did prove to be a fairly costly win as Tom Wandell and Ben Walter joined Toby Petersen on the injured list. That is 3 of the teams 4 centres which leaves coach Gordon with some tough decisions.
Luckily it appears that even though he is not 100%, Petersen should be cleared for action for tonights game 6 which helps lessen the blow a little however the Beefs still have some holes to fill.
There are a couple of options as Thomas Plihal who skated in 67 regular season games is ready to step in for his first taste of post season action and Scott Nichol has played fairly well in the last 2 games registering an assist along with a +2 rating.
The team will likely lean hard again on Sekera and Price who have been fantastic for the team. Sekera has 3 of the teams 9 goals so far and once again is leading the team in points while Price has a sparkling 1.69 GAA along with a .934 sv%.
Tickets for game 6 are going fast so make sure you get yours as quick as you can and cheer the Baby Beefs on to the next round!
