Baby Beefs prepare for battle

With the regular season behind us the focus shifts to the post season. There may have been disappointment in Stevenage as the Beefs missed the playoffs for the 2nd straight season but in Bedwell there is a sense of optimism, and given their regular season record, a sense of expectancy.

The farm playoffs will be no easy feat. The Baby Beefs have been here before, both previous seasons in fact, and have had 1st and 2nd round knockouts. The team has changed a great deal yet they remain competitive and ran rampant through the regular season to the best overall record this year.

The last 2 seasons have seen the Baby Beefs face the Baby Ducks in the first round with each team taking a win each. This year missed out on the playoffs by a single point which means the Baby Beefs will face a new opponent in the Portsmouth Pirates.

The Beefs held the regular season advantage over the Pirates with a 6-2-0 record over their division rivals while outscoring them 20-12 over those games. The playoffs have proven time and time again however that regular season records count for very little in the post season and the Baby Beefs are fully expecting a tough series....I mean come on, they are pirates!
