Beefs and Baby Beefs still rolling strong. Empty Beefs and Baby Beefs still rolling strong.

Even with GM Homer taking some time off and allowing the players to simply 'get on with it' the team has been playing strong hockey and have put themselves in good position for a drive to the playoffs.

Beefs fighting to return to the playoffs.
For the Beefs they are looking for a return to the playoffs for just the 2nd time having missed the past 2 post seasons. They currently sit in the 4th and final spot with a 2 point lead over 5th however due to the recent lack of games, have 4 games in hand and also between 3-4 games in hand on the teams above. In reality catching the Badgers for the division lead is looking unlikely as they show no signs of slowing down and have a 10 point lead however the first for 3rd and 4th is definitely in full swing. The top 5 guys we spoke about earlier in the season have all maintained their point per game pace giving the Beefs a potent offence. Couple that with two goalies who are both having fantastic seasons and there is recipe there for success.

The defence has undergone a complete overhaul in the last season or so and they have performed well. They may not have put up the most amount of points but the defence combine for a +31 so are giving their team a chance to win.

Matt Cullen is one of the few players to have survived the changes and stayed with the team since the initial draft and is still playing at a high level. The 35 year old has chipped in for 15 points in 52 games and has a team high +15 rating.

Baby Beefs continue utter domination.
The Baby Beefs are still determined to take the next step after the disappointment of their loss in the playoff final. They have taken the farm and had their wicked way with it all season long and sit atop the pile with a 41-8-3 record and an 11 point lead while still holding games in hand on just about every other team. Still none of the matters if they cannot convert this success in the post season but they have been getting closer and closer every year so could this be the year they do it?

The team is hoping it is as leading scorer Oscar Moller will almost certainly not be with the team next season as the big team cannot keep him down any longer. He has developed into one of the best forwards in the farm and should be more than capable of converting that over to the big league. He is scoring for fun and has a crazy +39 rating.

The Beefs made a point of building from the draft and this is beginning to pay off big time. Behind Moller the teams top scorers are Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Stanley Cupp, both drafted by the Beefs and showing they are top level players.

Also playing extremely well are the teams two goalies. Carey Price and Howie Hole have GAA's of 1.60 and 1.34 respectively and save percentages of .934 and .939 for a formidable pairing.

The next few weeks should be interesting for both teams and with both playing very well don't expect to see too many changes when the deadline rolls around.
