Beefs looking for improvement down the stretch Empty Beefs looking for improvement down the stretch

With the playoffs in sight the Beefs are looking to step up their game to ensure the best positioning possible for the playoff run. Currently sitting 3rd place in the division and with a 12 point cushion to 5th the Beefs are concentrating on solidifying their place in the standing. 2 pts seperate the top 3 teams and with the Badgers only 5 pts behind while looking at 4 games in hand the seeds could finish in any order right now.

We are looking for a bit more consistency from our guys as the games have really fluctuated in performance with the team seemingly scoring for fun one moment then unable to even fire many pucks on net the next game.

The Beefs are looking to Richards to step up a little as his scoring has slowed a little of late after being over a pt per game throughout the season. 'Richards numbers speak for themselves' said GM Homer, 'we know he can lead this team and we have no doubt that he will continue to score, our playoff push relies hugely on him carrying the team offensively.' The Beefs also hope that new acquisition Dany Heatley can continue his good performance after scoring 4 goals and 2 assists in his first 7 games.

Meanwhile the Baby Beefs have quietly moved up the standings and now find themselves in a similar position to the big club.

Sitting 3rd in the conference and also with a 10 pt cushion to 5th place, the Baby Beefs are hoping to add to any potential success the 1st team manages.

Petersen and Sekera have emerged as unlikely leaders in the scoring department while new acquisition Drew Stafford has been on fire since he was traded putting up 16 pts in 17 games. Similarly the goalie pairing of Price and Deslauriers appears to be the strongest the team has had all season and has more than made up for the loss of season long starter Erik Ersberg. Price sports a 1.37 GAA while Deslauriers has 1.44 giving both goalies a good shout at the number 1 spot heading into the playoffs. 'We know we can win whoever is in goal for us and we fully expect that to continue as we aim for the 606HL farm championship title.'

Tune in tonight for possibly the biggest game of the season tonight as the Beefs take on the Buttercups in a divisional tilt that will have a huge say on who comes out on top of the division. The Beefs currently own a 5-0-2 record against the Cups so fully expect to gain at least a point tonight but the Cups are on a 6-1-1 stretch so will not go down easily.
