Beefs and Badgers series gets heated

So after 4 games we are left with a best of 3 series. The series has had a little bit of everything, a blow out win for both sides, a close win in regulation and an OT win. Just when you thought OT was a time to knuckle down and concentrate on playing, all hell broke loose just 47 seconds into the period with 3 fights breaking out and a 4th taking place 5 minutes later for a total of 54 PIM in the OT period.

Game 1 saw a determined Beefs team go into The Haunted Woods Arena and dominate the home team to the tune of a 6-1 victory on the back of an Oscar Moller hat trick. Then the Badgers rebounded to win a close game 5-4 to even the series.

Back in Stevenage and the Beefs were feeling good about stealing home ice and perhaps that made them complacent as the Badgers stormed the Beefs on way to a 9-5 blow out win. This game saw all 4 goalies used with only Pavelec having a save % over .900. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Evgeni Malkin both picked up hat tricks. Then there was the crazy OT in game 4 that saw the Beefs pick up a 3-2 win.

The result of this rivalry sees the Beefs and Badgers with the 1st and 2nd most PIM's in the league, far ahead of any other team, and 1st and 3rd in hits. With 3 games to go I for one cannot wait to see what these games involve.
