It's as close as im getting though. I remember reading his wikipedia page because i hadn't hear of him before, but it seems all those Kyle Wellwood jokes have taken up all the spare space in my brain (Theres another Wellwood joke in that sentence)

The page I read said it was 32 so maybe he had that in the 71-72 season then won the opener of the 72-73 season? Meh you got it right regardless

Good old Wiki - that's where I got the 33 from.
One of the guys in my ESPN league at work is a huge fan of Cheevers and has a pic of his goalie mask as his avatar.
Still at work so if someone else has got a question feel free to post it.

32, 33 - whatever it is, it's insane. Hell of an achievement.

Since CJ appears adverse to posting a question I shall stick one up....
Why can Jari Kurri, Alexander Mogilny and Cam Neely all count themselves unlucky to not be included in the same bracket as Mike Bossy, Brett Hull, Maurice Richard, Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux?

I think I know this - its something to to with scoring 50 goals in 50 games. Is that that Kurri, Mogilny and Neely all had injuries in between their run, but the others didn't, thus theirs is an official '50 in 50'?

That's right. Kurri, Mogilny and Neely all hit the special 50 in 50 but the NHL does not recognise their efforts because the feat was not achieved in their teams first 50 games which is required for the record to be official. Lemieux also hit an unofficial 50 in 50 in addition to his legit efforts.

Since the creation of the NHL hardest shot competition in the All Star Game, six players have won with a shot of 100mph+. Who are they?

I know who one of them is. DGB tweeted last night that goalies should be issued with diapers whenever Chara releases his slapshot.

Chara is indeed one, and holder of the record.

Well one is blatantly Al MacInnis otherwise leafy would have never asked the question!
Souray has a big bomb so I reckon he is a good shout for the third candidate. Coffey, Bourque and Leetch for the other three?

Chara, Weber, Souray, Lecavalier, Pronger and MacInnis?
I am pretty sure on half of them but the others are just guesses....

Here's another one which the Leafs fans should get. It was asked by NESN last night and I'm ashamed to say I only knew two out of the three.
Which three players originally drafted by the Leafs were part of the Bruins Stanley Cup winning team?

It was Thornton that I didn't know. Probably because he's played for a few teams in his career so I wasn't sure where he started. Good fight with Orr last night.

Re: Resurrection of the great 606 Quizzes.....well kind of.
It came up on TSN last season about how the Leafs drafted and then traded away both Thornton and Rask without them ever playing a game and they turned out so well, yet Kaberle was drafted by the Leafs and was stalwart for some years and then gets traded and becomes dump!
Was a good fight- edge to Thornton for getting Orr's helmet off and his shirt up around his head.

Re: Resurrection of the great 606 Quizzes.....well kind of.
We have two of the six decided. Chara and the legendary Al MacInnis have won with shots over 100mph. And on checking, so has Souray, he won jointly with someone. This means there are seven to get - and we have three. Good shots (pun intended) all other guesses, but not to be....

Didn't Freddy Modin win it a while back? No idea if he topped 100 though.
