2001, our winner was Fred Modin with 102.1 mph. Two to find...

Awesome, I am lost for who else even won it
Maybe Brett Hull? I know he could fire it.

Not Brett Hull, although the Hull family are renowned for their their rockets with Bobby Hull allegedly hitting 118mph (This was timed in 1965 and the recording devices weren't as accurate)

118mph! That's a double diaper right there!
And it's really bugging me that I can't think of the chap who won it before Chara. (I know I could cheat and check the interweb, but where's the fun in that?)

Wasn't Souray the last to win it before Chara? My minds a little fuzzy....sign of getting old I guess!

There also was Al Iafrate! Owner of one of the best mullets the nhl has ever seen!

Iafrate was the first. And Souray was the previous winner to Chara, but that year it was tied.... The question is, who tied with Sheldon for the final meber of our group?

I gave in and looked it up. And I have to say that I would never have come up with the answer in a million years.

Or does someone know the answer to:
Who is the only person to captain an NHL All Star team and a KHL All Star team?

Adrian Aucoin well I never.
I didn't even know the KHL had an all-star game but I guess it makes sense. I will go with some obvious ones for starters. Fedorov and Jagr

Ok I will go with Jagr as he made a better fist of it than Federov has.

Good choice. You are indeed correct. Federov has captained the KHL All Star game 2 times, but never the NHL All Stars. Jagr has 1 NHL All Star captaincy, and 2 KHL All Star (conveniently Team Jagr vs Team Federov!)

Oooo....ermmmmm.... yes a question :/
Detroit recently set a record for longest home winning streak [21 games and counting] but who holds the record for the longest away winning streak and in what season?

I seem to recall many moons ago a piece on Transworld Sport featuring Eric Lindros, and I think there was something about an away streak. So, Philadelphia Flyers and 1993ish I'd say. Or Toronto in 1994-1995

Well, everyone had a huge away streak in 1994/1995! So Philly in 93 please Bob.

Can I ruin this and say the 05-6 Red Wings with something like 11 games?

I don't see how giving the correct answer is ruining anything. Congratulations. You sir are now the question master.

Just because it's usually Red Wings envy again ;-)
From an impressive streak, to an unwanted one:
Which team holds the NHL record for most powerplay opportunities without a goal?

This must be the Blues.
Until recently, I could have been between the pipes for the opposition when we were on the PP. We couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo!

It is indeed the Bruins. Anyone want to take a stab at how many PP oppourtunities they squandered without a goal?
