Buds shoot the Bean to take series 4-2
Rookie Nazem Kadri’s stick dance left Thomas fuming and proved to be the shoot-out winner as fellow rookie James Reimer gloved the next attempt falling back into his crease with clenched fistes in jubilation.
Overall there was a good feel to the game as it ebbed and flowed before the Blue and White stole the extra point from the TD Garden faithful, though not until Timmy Thomas had come up with another monster save on Mikhail Grabovski on a penalty shot in OT.
Highlights came form both sides, my two favourites being, a good scrap between Milan Lucic and Jay Rosheill who continues to impress me with his outstanding energy, and the moment of the game when Brad Marchand picked Clarke MacArthur and then held off the forward’s attention before turning Reimer outside and backhanded it into the net.
There are a couple of reasons to be happy with this result. One, Kessel grabbed a pair of helpers- his jinx against his former club is well and truly over. Two, once again we came back to win from a two period deficit. Three, we one the series matchup which isn’t something I can say all too often. But fourthly and perhaps most importantly, it keeps us out of the clutches of the chasing teams (Thrashers and Devils) and thus continually lowers that pick we gave the B’s.
All in all a pretty good night.

Good Points, well made Buffon. The form since the All Star break has been great, and more than that, the manner of the performances really make you feel like the elusive Playoff berth could just be ours next season.
If nothing else, it's proved that the plan is working and Burke and Wilson ARE turning the hockey club around. The only difference between us and everyone else is that everyone expects it to happen overnight in Toronto!
Pity the season is coming to an end for us, I'm really enjoying it at the moment!

Excellent game right up to the shoot-out. After that it was a bit poop. Fair play to the Leafs. They thoroughly deserved the win. They could have folded after those two quick Bruins goals, but they fought back brilliantly.
Marchand's shortie was a beaut; and if he doesn't win the Seventh Player award on Saturday I'll wear a Habs jersey when I go to the Garden next week.
In my view he deserves the award purely for skating past the Leafs bench and miming a golf swing. Though apparently Claude didn't find it as funny as I did and gave him a right rollicking for it.
