Krejci wakes up big time
Coming into the season Krejci was the teams number 1 centre and had big expectations following a huge trade last season that brought him over from the Knights of St George. However he got off to a relatively slow start by his standards and was being shown up by team mate David Backes who has absolutely stormed out of the gates.
Going into last night games Krejci had 17 points in 20 games. Now a bad number by any stretch but not where he wanted to be. Then came in the Victory who had manhandled the Beefs in their previous meeting outshooting them 46-21. Last night was a lot more balanced in shots but Krejci exploded with a 5 point game scoring a pair of goals and adding 3 assists. 3 of those points also came on the powerplay giving the team a much needed boost in that area.
The win puts the Beefs back on top of the conference in what is turning into a huge battle with 4 teams from the division seperated by just 3 points. Only the Crunch and Chops have kept up pace from the Guerin division.
In farm news, the Baby Beefs dropped just their 3rd loss of the season to the Pirates with Howie Hole giving up 3 goals on only 16 shots while his counterpart Cam Ward put up a steller performance stopping 29 of 31 to give his team a huge win over the league leading Baby Beefs.
Up next is another huge pair of games as the Beefs take on the Flaming Ducks in a set of back to back home and home games in what is becoming one of the divisions most intense rivalries.
