It's Twine Time
The Eternal Leader is said to be fuming at the continued sorry state of his goaltendeing. It is believed that the Victory hierarchy are of the opinion that they would be challenging for top honours if only the player in the crease was able to stop vulcanised rubber.
The Chatham Victory are currently one of only four teams in the 606HL to lack a goaltender with a save percentage at or above the .900 marker and Ilya Bryzgalov is the worst designated starter of the four. Chatham have tried and tested at least half a dozen tenders in Buff's two and half season stint in charge of the franchise with no change in fortune. The team consistently fails to post any form of respectable numbers and the goaltenders do not even bother to mask their weaknesses by posting the occasional shut-out. In fact Chatham have yet to record a shut-out this season and have averaged the lowest number of shut-outs of any team in the past 3 seasons. This is despite facing considerably fewer shots than many of their rivals as Chatham sits third for shots against average (28.43) and second in shot differential (1.23).
With plenty of cash currently invested in the position, Chatham's five goaltenders take home a combined $10.9m a year between them, it is said that the Eternal one is prepared to break his policy of self-determination to find the final piece to the puzzle.
