OK Gents, I have to say I'm probably the only one old enough to remember him in his 'prime'!!

Howard Cosell was a notoriously arrogant American Sports journalist / commentator who was probably most famous for his boxing commentaries and later on, his Monday Night Football presentation (with Frank Gifford and a n other - the name escapes me).

He once famously interrupted his broadcast to announce John Lennon's death live on National TV. But in 1978..........he mistakenly and prematurely announced the retirement of the Legend that is Bobby Orr - it was actually Bobby Hull who was retiring. (Orr retired the next year)

He was both the most loved and hated of all American sports broadcasters who courted controversy every time he opened his mouth or picked up a pen.

Who was the 1st NHL Player to score 100 points in a season, and 1000 points in a decade?

Well Esposito, Hull and Howe all did it in the same season but I can't remember if it was in the 60s or 70s and they all played a significant amount of hockey in both decades so not sure which hit the 1000 points though it is more likely to be Howe or Esposito rather than Hull.
