At least I went for a fighting skilled player - I could have said Gretzky! Its not Gretzky is it? No? I'll get my coat.

Wait till you get to my age, it's a wonder I can remember any of the answers!!!!!
OK, so in celebration of the Leafs entertaining the 'new' Jets later tonight, I hope it's ok to have a cheeky double header - one easy and one not quite so....
Who did the 'old' Jets play in their final NHL regular season home game and what was the score?
and
Who scored the 'new' Jets first goal of the 2011 season

Antropov got the first goal for the new Jets.
Last home game was against the Kings, im guessing 4-2 for the score?

Well done Iggy (close on the score!)
Ex-Leaf Antropov was the scorer, and the Kings were indeed the opponents, and the score was 5-3 to the Jets on April 12, 1996.
Over to you...............

Six players have had their number retired by two teams. Name the players and the teams who retired their numbers.

Great question. And I have absolutely no idea. Gretzky maybe, by the Oilers and Kings. And did the Avs as well as the Bruins retire Bourque's number?

Re: Resurrection of the great 606 Quizzes.....well kind of.
Gretzky has had his number retired by the NHL, and thus all teams.
so the other five:
Mr Hockey Gordie Howe - Wings and Whalers
Larry Robinson - La and someone
Patrick Roy - Canadiens and Avs
Mark Messier - Oilers and NYR
Brett Hull - St Louis and someone
If you're not counting Gretzky, I'll add my idol - Al MacInnis by the Flames and the Blues. He should be on there anyway :p

Patrick Roy was another one of my guesses but could only remember one of his teams. Wasn't sure if we were allowed to include Gretzky but I couldn't think of anyone else.

Jane, Wayne Gretzky and Ray Bourque are correct, as are the teams they played for
Leafy, Goerdie Howe, Patrick Roy and Mark Messier are all correct. Youre close with Brett Hull, but it's not him.

Well seeing as a) I only got two out of six, and b) I'm still at work with no access to my copy of "The Bumper Book of Useless Hockey Trivia", I think Leafy should set the next question. (as long as the answer is Bobby Orr).
I am now seriously worried about the autocorrect on my iPhone. It has just corrected 'seeing' to 'Sedin'.

As in "seing double" becoming "Sedin double"... Well that makes sense

Toughy for you then (and no CJ, Bobby Orr is not the answer). Two players have played an NHL Stanley Cup final game, but never played a regular season game. Who are they?

I'm sure we have. Because one of the players is a Bruins player who only played one NHL game in his entire career and that game happened to be a SCF game. Can't remember his name though.

We have had a similar question, including the answer. I shall ask another.
In 1978, how did Howard Cosell make NHL headline news?
