The Chatham Victory will make their first ever appearance in the Kings Cup Finals.

The number one Nandos seed defeated their bitterest of rivals, the Stevenage Beefs, by 4 games to 1 to wrap up the inaugural conference title. Of particular highlight to neutrals was the only Beef W in the series coming in game 4, a 6-5 triple overtime thriller. The Victory piled up 90 shots in the contest with Toews shooting the puck 16 times alone and Widmean an incredible 12 from the blueline, all to no avail. Ultimately Buff's pre-series prediction that the team who conceded the most penalties would loose the series rang true. The Beefs piled up 126 PIMs to 87 for the Victory.

Chatham will meet the titans of the 606hl, the Boston Shamrocks, in the final. The Shamrocks are 606's most decorated team and will be gunning for their second consecutive title and third title in total. If the Victory thought special teams were important in the first two series it will be even more so in the final. GM Paddywan has built a team renowned for its discipline and so Gm Buff has indicated that some changes will be made to address this. Jonny Boychuk is out injured and his place will be taken by rookie Lance Pitlick and there are strong rumours that Matt Moulson will take the place of the ill-disciplined Andrei Kostitsyn.

The Victory head home after splitting the first pair of games in Boston.

GM Buff confirmed a blow that +/- leader Colin White will likely miss the remainder of the finals with an injured left knee. Jonny Boychuk, having just proved his fitness, or rookie Bart Crashley will take White's place on the third pairing.

Josh Harding is vying for his first start of the play-offs after a shaky performance from Jose Theodore in the game 2 defeat. Sergei Kostitsyn has accumulated 10 PIMs in two games and is under threat after Buff warned his players that discipline was the most important factor in the finals.

Call up Matt Moulson had a pair of goals in his first game and is a +2 through two games. Rookie Lance Pitlick is a +3 and has 2 points through two games. Despite his penalty resulting in the game-wining-goal in game 2 he looks set to retain his place on the roster.

The Chatham Victory gave up their first home defeat of the play-offs in their 8th game at the Mary Rose Bowl as the Boston Shamrocks tied up the series 2-2.

The Shamrocks only had four shots in the first 10 minutes but Josh Harding let three of them by and was yanked leaving GM Buff with a difficult decision before a crucial game 5. One area he will look to address with Coach Bylsma is special teams. Boston currently holds a commanding  116%-84% combined advantage over Chatham in this respect.
