After being pretty quiet for the first couple of games, the new GM of the leauges new franchise, the McBuck Cherrypickers has spoken out. After the first 5 games the Cherrypickers have a 4-1-0 record.

The GM had this to say 'Of course im happy after a pretty solid start and a good winning streak but all good things come to an end so we have to get started again and get back on the winning road quickly to maintain our play-off push which i believe is a realistic target'

he continued saying 'I inherited a pretty decent team in a good position that is a credit to the previous GM'

however some of the hockey mad fans of the Cherrypickers have been frustrated at the performances of some of the players the GM reacted saying 'look all players go through peaks and troughs, good days and bad days, if we are not performing to out high standards and still winning that shows we have quality does it not? give the players time to get used to the new surroundings and area and you will see the benefits'

The McBuck Cherrypickers completed their first trade today acquiring Jonathan Cheecho from the Moose Jaw Giraffes in exchange for Andrei Kostitsyn.

The GM had this to say 'Our first trade is a sensible one, Cheecho brings an extra dimension to our team, hard graft and durable so he will slot right in and we should see him playing regularly for us. As this being my first trade it was surreal, the eurphoria of an agreement, the ups and downs of the rollercoaster and the nerves while waiting on a response, it was exciting! the fact that it was agreed on my birthday makes this day extra special'


and what does the GM do on his birthday and after completing a trade. well he was seen scuttling off to his office with a pile of paper and notes on the crusades, one can only wish him the best of luck

some time has passed since the Mcbuck Cherrypickers came into th 606HL and the honeymoon period is definetaly over. the team has had ups and downs and is in a ferocious battle for the last play off spot, with several other teams included in this scrap.

'sure it is going to be exciting' says brian rafalski 'all we need is a couple more wins and put a winning streak together'.

The fans have been supportive all year and the fans in scotland have taken to this new team 'all we want to do is reward them for the loyalty and the support they have shown us through out the year' remarks eric staal. 'yes we have a rookie GM but he is learning and while in this position we all still have a chance'

The GM has been unusally quiet over the past months leading to rumours of non-commitment however he has led to quash those rumours by attending everyday.
