The Flaming Ducks would like to address the rumours that have been going around today. Ilya Kovalchuck is now a Giraffe. As part of our plan to get younger, faster and more disciplined, it was no longer acceptable to have Ilya hog tying his team mates. We are very pleased with the addision of Enver Lisin, he will find a good home on our PP. He will join Travis Zajac and R.J. Umberger, who also involved in recent trades to the Flaming Ducks.

We now have a nice pile of Draft picks to build for our future, but its important that the team knows that we still expect them to peform at the highest level and make a puch for the Playoffs.

Brent Burns will tak the role of Captain, with Chris Drury and Mike Ribeiro his assitants.

Patrick Elias is on his wat to Badger town. The Flaming ducks have anounced Elias has been traded for Jason Pominville and yet another 1st rounder.

Elias played his last game as a Duck in last nights Victory over The Beef. Coach Jacques was sad to see Elias go, but the long term future of the team is looking promising as new signing Enver Lisin put up a goal and an assist in his first game as a Duck.

The Flaming Ducks are pleased to announce the signing of Paul Stastny Rich Peverly and Johhny Boychuck, in exchange for Travis Zajac, Dustin Boyd and Chris Buttler.

Coach Jacques had the folowing to say:

Paul is proven at this level, and with his age and ability, we are confident he is the guy to lead this team through the next 5 - 10 years. It was tough having to give up the guys that left, but the fans deserve a team that can compete while we also try to build through youth.

With Stastny, Burns and Jimmy Howard, this team has a strong backbone. We will be looking to strenghten the depth and particualy the wings through the draft. Three 1st rounders in the next draft and four the year after along with a haul of 2nd and 3rds should give us that oppertunity.

We understand the fans were dissapointed to see Kovy, Datsyuk and Elias all traded, but this team was unable to survive with an aging core and very little in the way of prospects.

We have some young guys on the team this year who will get an oppertunity to play big minutes and show us what they can bring to the team. Guys like Max Paciorety, Enver Lisin and Cam Fowler.

The team are now in a good place and looking forward to playing together. Its a relif for the guys not to have Kovy running around playing the fool.
