World championships
So again a thread for those poor souls whose teams decided they didn't want to play in the playoffs and instead decided to send their players to the world championships instead.
Who has your team sent and to which countries?
The Dallas Stars have had 9 players asked to play over seas as follows.
Alex Goligoski team USA
Richard Bachman team USA
Jack Campbell team USA
Jamie Benn team Canada
Trevor Daley team Canada (declined due to wife expecting 2nd child)
Kari Lehtonen team Finland
Loui Eriksson team Sweden
Philip Larsen team Denmark
Tomas Vincour team Czech Republic
Will be interesting to see how many of these guys get on especially as most represent a promising core that the Stars intend to build around.

Nope this was from a story on the Stars site, didn't mention full rosters yet. I don't think they will publish full rosters yet because they usually wait until the end of round one to see what other players they can nab!

Re: World championships
Yeah I was looking for something similar on the Leafs site. The IIHF website is no more help either.
I am guessing Phaneuf is on Team Canada and Grabo for Belarus. I know Kessel has already said he won't play for the US.
Some others that might get an outside shot:
Lupul (Canada)- injury dependent
Gunnarsson (Sweden)
Liles (USA)
Gardiner (USA)
Kulemin (Russia)

Re: World championships
Fowler and Ryan have been selected for Team USA.
I saw Perry at the World Championships a couple of years ago and he's a very enthusiastic player so he could well be up for playing for Canada. And given the lacklustre season Getzlaf had he should want to get some extra practise in too.
As they're in Finland I do wonder whether Selanne wants a last hurrah playing for his country? Don't know what that guy eats but I want some of it!
