I think the fact that the NFL's first team is 75th is a testament to how good the cap is.

Yep that's what I thought too.

I've always been a fan of the cap. It certainly made the rugby league a lot more competitive.

Personally, the highlight for me is Deportivo La Caruna at 208, one place behind the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters. I always fancied myself in the Spanish La Liga, but I'll take the Japanese Baseball anytime if I can become a Ham Fighter....

Oh god, there's some classic team names in there such as the Tokyo Yakult Swallows (obviously a very healthy team...) and the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks (obviously don't take any crap...)...

The NHL should introduce that style of sponsorship with company names being incorporated into the team name. We could have the Toronto Titleist Maple Leafs.
