Re: MLB Thread
A very less than stellar start for the Red Sox this season. Hope they buck their ideas up soon. We've got some friends coming over in July and we've got tickets for one of the games against Detroit.

Baseball isn't about the results. It's about beer and hotdogs.

Just don't go to Citizens Bank Park for them, they are supposedly some of the most expensive around.

A six hour epic at Fenway yesterday. The game finally ended in the 17th inning with the Red Sox losing 6-9 to the Orioles.

Re: MLB Thread
Who woulda thought the Orioles would be best in the majors after 28 games? Crazy. I know there's 134 to go but the fact the Orioles and Dodgers lead both leagues is a mad concept.
Re: MLB Thread
So Yoooooouuuuuuuuk has been traded to the White Sox. Shame. We could always rely on him to get hit by pitch and walked to first base.

Forget the division...The Cards just plain suck!!!. Tony La Russa must be sat at home, with his pipe, in his slippers, shaking his head in disappointment
Boy, are we missing Puyol. Beltran is trying manfully to fill the void, but he can't do it on his own. Furcal needs to stop doing exactly that and pull his finger out...
I know the season is long and we were in a worse position last season, but I cannot see where the spark is going to come from, to get this team going!!!

I'm not too interested in baseball again, now the Phils are doing the old "Pretend we are shit" routine.

Yup. I can't believe the Orioles are doing better than the Red Sox. Fenway Park will soon be renamed Camden North.

Re: MLB Thread
I can't remember who but I was watching a game the other day when the 3rd baseman came to field a bunt which the pitcher beat him to by some distance, then instead of throwing out the hitter the pitcher threw to 3rd to get the lead runner out with the 3rd baseman not there it resulted in a run scored. Only thing I remember was the 3rd baseman was black.

Holy shit! I know we've been crap this season, but this is ridiculous.

Sox are thoroughly thumped
Defeat is there worst since 2000
With grammar like that they deserved a thumping.

The Redbirds have been up and down like a fiddlers elbow...as the recent series with the Reds and Nationals have highlighted, but I did laugh loudly when I saw the Boston score.....

Re: MLB Thread
And with today's loss to the Blue Jays, the Red Sox will finish the season under .500.
And it looks as if the Pats are about to go down to the Cardinals. They're losing 20-18 with just over a minute to go.
Added to the lock-out, it's not a good day for sport in Boston.
Edit: well the Pats game got very exciting. But they still lost.

Re: MLB Thread
Thank god for that. The Red Sox season is nearly over. One last game to play against the Yankees tonight and then they can all clear off to the golf course.
The lost in the 12th inning last night which coupled with a win by the Blue Jays means the Red Sox will finish last in the division.
Hands up if you think Bobby Valentine will still be the coach at the start of next season?
