Beefs split home and home with Ducks
In what is turning out to be a very entertaining regular season series with the Ducks, both teams took a pair of points in a home and home where very little could separate the teams.
The first game at the Steakhouse saw the home team take a 3-2 win on the back of the teams third line players who scored a pair of goals in the 2nd period.
However in the second game at the BBQ Barn, the victory went once again to the home side after a valiant fight back from the Beefs to overcome a 3-0 deficit. The fight back wasn't enough as they dropped a 5-4 decision. The Beefs thought they had secured at least a point as Backes scored his team leading 13th with just 54 seconds to go to tie the game. The Ducks had other ideas however, scoring the winner with just 4 seconds left in regulation.
So far the teams couldn't be closer. Both have won 2 out of 4 and both have managed to score 14 goals in the series. The fight for the division title is really hotting up with the Badgers and Victory not far behind and both have games in hand. Currently there is only a .031 difference in points percentage between the 4 teams and so far the battle is wide open.
Down in the farm the Baby Beefs continue their dominance charging out to a league leading 14-2-0 start, a full 7 points ahead of 2nd place. They have so far scored almost double the goals they have conceded and are looking like early season favourites for at least the regular season title.
The Baby Beefs are led by a rejuvenated Andrew Ference who has a mammoth 17 points in 16 games, ahead of the teams top young centre Oscar Moller who has 16. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is also enjoying a good start to his career putting up 12 points in 16 games. Up next for the Baby Beefs are the Turku Terrors who are one of only two teams to have a win against them after a 3-2 victory in Turku. Tonight could be a chance for a bit of revenge.

Re: Beefs split home and home with Ducks
I believe we have another home and homer coming up soon. All four games between us have been decided by just one goal.
That last game though, you came back from three goals behind, tied the game twice and to loose with four seconds left to go! Jamie Lundmark will forever be known as Jamie the beef slayer.

Not wishing to add to the corruption allegations with bribing match officials, but surely murder would be assessed a match penalty...
