Flyers needed a solid goalie. Despite the sacrifices up front, the Flyers now have a solid goalie. You can't say that the Flames have got anything of value back from this deal.

Butler and Byron are young guys still needing experience. They're not exactly first-line replacements.

Be grateful you got that. Calgary lost its best Dman AND a 2nd rounder, in exchange for two worthless players and the dump of Kotalik's contracts. If you traded Pronger, you'd hope to get more in return than:

Pronger + Briere + 2nd round pick = Derek Joslin + some rubbish prospect
