Think Kessel could get suspended for insisting on using his stick rather than his fists.

Kessel just lost a lot of respect.

If you want to pick a fight with John Scott, then more fool you, but to then take two, double-handed swings with the stick? Weak.

Clarkson shouldn't have got involved, but I can see why he did. He's basically telling Scott that if he wants to have a crack at someone, then it should be Clarkson.

Love a good tussle, but Kessel can get bent.

Sort of makes sense that Scott would have an impact in a pre-season game. When the score actually counts the best way to hurt him is to keep him on the ice not let him sit in the box for 5 minutes.

*facepalm*

I know everyone was disturbed after the Devane/Tropp fight, as Tropp hit his head on the ice pretty hard and had to be helped from the ice. However, none of that is Kessel's doing, and Scott is nothing but an ape in a hockey uniform. He also has no class, going after Kessel.

Kessel's justification for slashing at Scott is that he claims Scott threatened him (Kessel explains clicky), but players say that crap to eachother all the time. Kessel needs to remember, he is the elite player, and Scott is the goon. He'd have done far more damage to Scott by undressing him and slotting one away into the net, than swinging his stick like a lumberjack.

I like Kessel but I have to agree that was a cheap thing to do. Also Clarkson being their prized signing done for 10 games is not a good thing for the Leafs.

About time we saw a good goalie fight though!
