Re: Playoffs!!
Dion Phaneuf is a right plonker. I used far harsher words last night obviously.

Unbelievably idiotic play from him.
But what a great game to watch.

Re: Playoffs!!
That was the thing, it really was a great game (thanks for sharing the first period with me CJ) so it was frustrating to see it end that way. In all honestly the series has been full of great games.

Best face off of the game. April Reimer vs Elisha Cuthbert

Re: Playoffs!!
Yes that has caused many laughs on the Leafs boards! But seriously, don't talk to me about face-offs

Re: Playoffs!!
I lol'd at Phaneuf.
He came through there like a battering ram, took out a Bruins player, and left a massive wide open gap. Poor Reimer was left pretty much completely exposed.

Re: Playoffs!!
All my memories of Phaneuf as a Flame invovle him jumping into a rush, turning the puck over, ending up behind the oponents net and then just standing and watching as they go on a breakaway down the ice.

Re: Playoffs!!
He always does that, tries to hit and leaves his partner exposed. He was in the wrong position to begin with. Kessel is battling for the puck down at the boards and he is standing on the blue line rather than at a shallow point to assist. That's why he thinks he can steamroll the player (even though he doesn't need to and that is a dumb ass position to commit yourself from), then O'Bryne leaves too much exposed and doesn't come across enough though that it is a bit harsh as had no idea just how well (I think Kulemin) was chasing back to cover the cross pass. Basically a calamity of errors which is what you expect when Phaneuf is on the ice.

Re: Playoffs!!
Why you would do that sort of thing in OT with a loud and supportive crows behind you is beyond me.
That said i did make many a derogatory comment towards Phaneuf after that mistake and im hoping he learns from it, still he has been making a few mistakes this season.
Well if they are getting consoled by those two then I don't feel that sorry for them

Re: Playoffs!!
Shit, Shit and more Shit!!!...Oh for a fucking playmaker and a some forwards that can put the puck in the net(The Steen Machine excepted)!!!
Some of the moron's on Twitter and other platforms beating up on Elliott and blaming him for the defeats. In five of the six games, LA scored three - only once!!
The forwards were a fucking embarrassment...We need to get rid of Perron, McDonald, Stewart and Berglund. They were all notable by their absence.. I don't think I could have done any worse if I had dressed...and I can't even skate.
Rant over...

Re: Playoffs!!
Well that was intense. All but 1 of the 7 games were won by a margin of 1 goal. OT wins abounded, and I think if I'd been there I would have spent the majority of the 3rd period in the khazi.
Anyway, Anaheim are done, and we move on to the much touted Blackhawks. We always play well against the Hawks, so hopefully we'll be able to give them a run for their money.

Thank you Detroit! So glad to see the Ducks gone

That's probably where you'll find me tonight. Either there or in the corner of my living room curled up in a little ball and crying quietly. Fucking hell Bruins, why do you do this to me every bloody year?

Re: Playoffs!!
The playoffs really are quite a special thing. Unfortunately the schedule didn't fall kindly around my plans while I was out there, the only game that was on while I was in Toronto happened to fall at the time we had Medieval Times booked so couldn't even go and join in the crowd outside the ACC.
That said you could tell it was playoff time. Every single time we walked around outside we didn't go more than a few minutes before we saw someone in a Leafs jersy/t-shirt/jacket. The cranes all around building new apartment blocks had Leaf flags on them. Tons of cars with Leaf flags flying and the number of TV vehicles outside the ACC the morning of that one game night was insane.
Compare that to last year when I went and I swear I saw more people in Pens caps than I saw Leaf stuff.

Surprisingly I am not nervous, rather I am excited about tonight. Maybe it is because I never expected my team to make it to the play-offs, let alone a 5th seed, let alone win a game, let alone win two away games, let alone against the big bad Bruins, let alone see a game 7. I have had more than I could ever have expected this season. I love hockey.

Re: Playoffs!!
Given the number of people in Leafs stuff (compared to the number of people in Pens stuff) I would say more likely they just came out of shameful hiding lol.
Re: Playoffs!!
*Hides his well old Leafs jersey*
Remind me to bring it to Stevo so Mandy can somehow acquire this.
