Re: End of Season Awards
how about the vancouver canucks never gonna win the cup award?
also, maybe an award for top GM? ie, who put together the best deals together in trades, who had the guts to fire their coach etc?

Re: End of Season Awards
Or indeed the NJRangerMatt award for 'I want one of my players to win something' But yes, a GM of the year will be a good one to give, and I suppose a Bishops Finger trophy for +/-?

Re: End of Season Awards
hahahaha oi!!!! i might be in for the top goal scorer award anyway parise's one goal behind with 4 games in hand... it seems it will be him and semin slugging it out, rather than marleau or ovie
BUT a good chance of winning the +/- won't go amiss, i suppose

Re: End of Season Awards
just a few questions, leafy
1stly, i'm assuming all of the trophies that cannot be worked out, instantly (ie. not top points/goal scorer) we have to vote for a player who isn't ours? (i know this should be obvious, but you've only stipulated for best player award, and i'm just checking)
2ndly is the sportsmanship award the same as NHL style, in that they have to combine sportsmanship with a high standard of play, or is it just literally least PIM/minutes played, so long as a certain amounts of minutes have been played?
finally... is the worst performance award for a single player, or for a team.... as if it's a team, we all know where that's headed... *cough* watford capitals *cough*

I like that idea...although I prefer the award to be named the "Trotter Redknapp Trophy".
And converse to this would be the "Tammy Wynette Trophy"...for the team who performed the least amount of trading.
The "Maginot Line Award" for the team with the worst defence? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maginot_Line
The "Nul Points Cup" for the pro and/or farm player who played the most games/minutes without registering a single goal or assist.
And the "Colaiacovo Cup" for the pro and/or farm player with the worst +/-.....

1. Don't you trust my judgement?
2. Yes the sportsmanship is for a high standard of play so its not going to be some clown on someones third line who has played every game and got one minor for delay of game.
3. The worst performance as I put it to homer was for a team - ie a wooden spoon. Doing a worst performance for a player would be too difficult as I have at least seven candidates on the Giraffes alone.... (Jonas Hiller you're prize is ready )

1) NO! otherwise some god awful leafs player will win
2) That's okay, although, haven't you been paying attention? my third liner Clarkson is running away with dirtiest player in the league
3) I understand a bit more now although, like i say, we all know who's gonna win that one although, how on earth can you have a team with 2 players competing for top goal scorer, one in line for top points scorer and yet the rest of the team filled with underperforming fools???
all in all, thanks for clearing everything up dude

that and the fact that you buried your first team in the minors for several games.... but that had no effect, right?
and leafy.... i would have suspected it to have been at least colton orr (along with the sportsmanship trophy for him )

Well yes but my farm is on a win streak of 16 and in actual fact my first team lost a game in the farm so most of it is down to the real guys in the farm

Re: End of Season Awards
Voting is officially open on the GMs player of the year award. Please send your nomination to either Leafy or Homer. You can vote for one player, and they cannot be currently on your roster (or farm).

The nominations for the inaugural awards of the 606HL will be posted on Friday. If you haven't voted for player of the year, get your nomination into myself or homer for it to be counted, lest you have no say
