Most enjoyed USA food
Whilst there in October, I enjoyed several items of food which are not available in the UK.
These stand out items were:
A1 Steak Sauce
Twizzlers
Welchs Grape Soda
Pretzel M&Ms
Butterfingers
Chex Mix
What do you guys enjoy that you cannot get over here? And for CJ, what do you miss from the UK that you cannot get in the USA?

Chipotle!
Cheetos crunchy (although apparently you can get them online hmmmm)
And I will throw Canada into the discussion and say Tim Hortons Boston Creme donuts and hot chocolate.
Last but not least..... Baconator!

Re: Most enjoyed USA food
I'll agree with Cheetos Crunchy. I had a bag of the Jalapeno ones for my epic 2,000 mile road trip. Needless to say, they were gone by the time I reached the first state line...
Jonzee, I had the pleasure of trying Mountin Dew Voltage. I believe it's an energy form of Mountain Dew. It did NOT taste good, but I was completely wired for the rest of the day!
I've never tried a Baconator, what is it?

Not a brand but I always enjoyed the Yank style pancakes - even more than the British counterpart if I'm honest.

Re: Most enjoyed USA food
Dandelion and burdock
Proper chocolate (loathe Hershey's)
HP sauce
Heinz baked beans
Cornish pasties
Wensleydale cheese
Chocolate buttons
Tetleys (beer not tea)
Cadburys selection box at Christmas
I can get most of these at a premium from specialist shops.
Who said Twizzlers? Mr C and get through those at an alarming rate.

Re: Most enjoyed USA food
Can't speak for the US, but for Canada I have to say-
Size of portions
Quebecoise Steak
Fat Bastard Burgers (you know the sort, 2 cows, a pig, a chicken, eleventy three different cheeses, beef, more beef and more salad and sauce than should fit on the plate...)
Seafood done properly
Chilli Dog Stalls
And while not technically food, the range of beers in Scotland Yard, Toronto. More than I've had, and that is a LOT.

That kinda sums it up but without the chicken
Re: Most enjoyed USA food
Ive come to the conclusion, after extensive research that the Americans do the best breakfast in the world
French toast, maple syrup, sausage patty (it sounds so wrong but it's heaven on a plate)
Corned beef hash and eggs
Dunkin Donuts sausage and egg muffin
Crap! Now I've made myself hungry.

No, no, no, no, no, NO.
English Breakfast - Bacon, sausage, tomato, bacon, black pudding, hash brown, eggs, more bacon, fried bread, toast, bacon, beans, mushrooms, bacon. With coffee. And no blooming maple blooming syrup in sight. Maybe HP or Ketchup. Or mustard. Or all three. But not mayo. Certainly not.

I agree, although I think you need a bit more bacon!
Where do people stand on having proper chips with an English breakfast?

Re: Most enjoyed USA food
I'm not really sure what I think of the food quality on the other side of the Atlantic. I guess some people enjoy the good stuff but on the whole I imagine a lot of citizens eat low quality crap far too often.
The Yanks most certainly don't do beer - at least not on any mass produced scale.
A full English is the greatest breakfast in the world. Not every day of course but as an occasional treat it's awesome.

Chips? No chance. You get all the spud action you need from the hash brown/rosti/boxti variation. Tomatoes are fine but for me are a mere token gesture towards health. Black pudding is for northerners and is disgusting - white pudding that we have in Ireland is however pretty fine. Fried bread is arguably the worst foodstuff ever created and I'd seriously be concerned by anyone eating such a thing in the 21st century. Coffee? Bit girlie. Tea is preferable for a man.

American breakfasts are awesome. Bacon and Eggs followed by a stack of pancakes = awesome. Anyone wishing to try a baconator dont just get one, Three is an acceptable amount in one sitting in my eyes.
