Ducks Fly Together

The Flaming Ducks have gotten off to a great start this season. A record of 3-0-1 in their first four games is enough to put the top of their division, conference and for the moment at least the entire league. The Top line of Pominville, Stastny and Lisin (all acquired in recent trades), has lead the team by example with a combined 21 points. Star Goalie Jimmy Howard leads the league in SV% .938 and GAA 1.99.

Many pundits were predicting the basement for the Flaming Ducks this year, after the big name exits of pre season. It appears however, that the new GM has not only managed to amass a large pool of draft picks for the next two years, he has also selected his team wisely. With Jacques Lamiere bought in to Coach a solid defensive game, the players bought in were highly disciplined and all competent in their own zone. Opposing teams have so far struggled to create good scoring opportunities, and when they do they are greeted by the hottest goalie in the league.

It is clear that this team is in high spirits and playing well as a unit. With low expectations at the start of the season, the players have looked to go out and have fun. If they can keep this up, a few upsets may be on the cards and if they don't, well they will have three 1st rounders to fall back on in what is expected to be a very strong draft.
