League set up
I have been having a think about the way this league will be run and have come to the conclusion that the number of teams should be reduced.
My initial thoughts are this:
20 team league
2 Conferences made up of 2 x 5 team divisions.
Playoffs are to be determined once I know how flexible the sim system is.
We can then create our own team names and I feel that this will make for a much more entertaining league as the way we stand at the moment only 17 teams have been confirmed and I don't want to be running a league where only half the teams have an active GM.
Let me know what you think and should you all be ok with it then I will set a deadline for the remaining people to sign up.

Sounds good to me homer, it takes the pressure off me being Torontos GM and the expectation of millions. Instead I could lead out the Moose Jaw Giraffes at the Captain Morgan Arena

Re: League set up
sounds good homer
i think judging by the awful performance of my fantasy hockey team, NJDevilMatt need a colorado rockies style move and name change to produce some success in a few years
i shall have to think up some sort of inventive team and arena name.... this however is not my speciality....
maybe i can introduce some chemistry based witicism

Re: League set up
So is this SIM league more complicated than a bog standard fantasy team, because I think the town of Deadwood would be interested in having a franchise

Re: League set up
Homer I don't know if this is the right place to post this but anywho I'm having problems downloading the software that you mentioned we needed to manage our teams. Some security issue. Anyway I thought I would let you know I will try it again when I'm in Belgium next week but if this fails are there any other ways to get hold of the software? Thanks

Re: League set up
Certainly Buffon, if you have more problems let me know and I can always email you the files instead.
Re: League set up
I've downloaded the software ok but having trouble with OCX files, tried installing newer versions but no dice so far. If you have any info that would be much appreciated, if not I'll ask around at work.
Wish I was back in Montreal - the nice IT guy just loved fixing my home PC after a few casual reminders about which "ignorant s.o.b" was paying his salary ...

Re: League set up
I will have a look and see what I can find. Are the problems being thrown up when trying to install the client? Could you email me a screenshot?
Re: League set up
Not much to show on a screen shot apart from the error dialogue box tbh. The client and support files are both apparently installed, but I'm getting "Component 'Comdlg32.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid" when I try to open the client and a 339 run-time error and the same message about TABCLT32.OCX when I test the support files.
Cheers bud, I'll try and get hold of a mate of mine who used to do helpdesk to see if he can help out as well
