Season 8 Draft

Hi guys

The plaoffs will be over by the end of the week, and the Draft ratings will be in the Dropbox Friday evening. I am off to Calgary for a couple of weeks on the 21st, so i want to get the draft complete before this date.

Can you all let me know what time and date works for you all. Currently im scheduling it for 8pm on the 20th.

Anyone who won't be able to attend can send me their draft preferences and i will pick for you.

I can do that date. I'll miss round one but don't have a pick anyway.

That should be fine for me. Might have to leave before its over but should be good for a while.

Are you drafting for the Sharks beef?

Unless you find a taker for them before then sure I will do.

How do the draft rankings correlate to prospects? In the season 6 rankings Nichushkin is 74 but is actually 66. Just asking before I start thinking about prospect signings.

Also, why is there an expansion draft file? Isn't the league a long way off expansion?

ignore the expansion draft file, the sim just output all possible files.

I assume your referring to the players overall score? In the draft rankings, its just all of the stats added together and divided by the number of stat categories. The sim works put the overall score differently.

I have no experience of how prospects are rated. They will get some kind if rerate, but hopefully beef will be along to clarify what we do with them.

(I've been telling people this for years) Ignore the overall rating. It means NOTHING.

If I remember rightly prospects develop their core stats by roughly 2-3 each season before you activate them. So if you draft a prospect with 66 passing and activate him after 3 seasons he should be about 75 passing.
