Victory stutter towards play-offs Empty Victory stutter towards play-offs

A 3-0 shut-out win against the rival Bearded Badgers turned out to be a bad result. Sergei Kostitsyn found himself suspended, but far more critical was the fractured bone in Scott Glennie's right hand. Coach Byslma confirmed that the team's leading goal scorer will miss the rest of the season and the beginning of the play-offs should the team make it. At the game the following night, with GM Buff away, Byslma stupidly called up Fosberg and Huberdeau from the Pirates only to bench them, instead favouring to triple line Max Friberg. The Victory went on to lose a second game in a week against the Derby Ice Dogs by an 11-5 combined score. With the Pirates effectively locked into the 3rd seed in the farm league, Buff immediately upon his return confirmed that Fosberg will be given Glennie's spot for the reminder of the season.

The Victory continue their torturous run in with of back to back games against the Beefs (twice), the Mob, the Badgers, the Rex and the Giraffes. The Victory in fact will play 6 of the final 7 games away from home with 6 games in 9 days and 8 games in 13 days.

Note: The soon to be traded Brett Connolly has frustratingly hit fine form with 3 goals, 8 points and +8 rating in the 7 last games.

Those 2 games we play each other could be key for the playoffs. There will be three 100 point teams and those games will likely decide which one of us gets to play the non-100 point team!

Strange how the division winner is kind of at a disadvantage here....

Im sure you have just guaranteed a 3rd place finish for the Beef, and a series sweep for the Buttercups in the 1st round. Razz
