Well done, Buf. Not only did we trade Schenn, L for JVR, but it also appears we traded our playoff appearance too.

Congratulations. Although its been fairly typical for the leafs to be in a playoff spot after 40 odd games. Having a shortened season took away the oppertunity for them to screw it up.
Lets hope the Jets can make it too. It would be amazing if all four Canadian teams in the east make it!

Over the weekend I have composed this little number.....
Habs are red
Leafs are blue
We're going to the party
Wooo hoo hoooo
(not bad after a dozen or so beers!)

I wouldn't expect the computer of a Flames fan to know what a smiley looks like

(1) I was just thinking - perhaps we could shorten the playoffs like the regular season, we might win the cup!!!
(2) Finally, everyone else will shut up about our playoff absence. I suppose the 'No cup since '67' jokes will come out now instead!
(3) A belated thank you to Burke - you built this team and what would MLSE have done if they had kept you until the end of the season?
(4) WE MADE THE PLAYOFFS!!!! WOO HOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

We wouldn't have qualified. Burke had an aura of negativity around him, with him gone it has enlivened the team.

He would have traded Kadri and Reimer to Vancouver for Luongo for sure!

Wasn't there talk about him not trading being the reason for his firing? If so then that has to be the best thing he did for the team, sacrificing his job! haha
Re: This post isn't what you think it is about
I agree that the atmosphere changed when Burke left, but credit where it's due - he did assemble that team.
I'm not sure if specifically Kadri would have been traded for a goalie, and to be fair, we still tried real hard with Kipper / Luongo at the deadline. Glad nothing happenned - whilst I don't know how Reimer will fair in the playoffs, he has got us there and deserves his shot.
The biggest difference that made Kadri click was moving him from the wing to centre. Funnily enough, the last time we did that it worked out quite well too - Mats Sundin. Whether Burke would have let Randy switch him is another debate.

Re: This post isn't what you think it is about
Dare I say it but how about some credit to the ownership? Let Burke rebuild the team and then do the ol'switch-a-roo when the job is done and bring in someone who can lift spirits. The only stupid thing was not bringing in a proper coach from the off. But the Wilson attitude matched Burke.

Re: This post isn't what you think it is about
Let's hope for a Boston win tonight against the Sens. I really don't fancy our chances against the B's, not that I think we will beat the Habs but it will at least be a competitive series.
