Both the Beefs and Baby Beefs went into their respective playoffs with home ice advantage. Through 2 games, both have managed to hand that home ice over to the opposition.

The Beefs had a back and forth game 1 with both teams trading goals until midway through the third period where the Victory got the insurance marker they needed to take the win. All 4 goalies were used in this match with both Hole and Theodore being replaced by their relevant backups. Only one of the 4 goalies put up a decent save percentage in Cam Ward which proved to be the difference.

Game 2 proved to be quite the revenge matchup. GM Homer wasn't happy with the way game 1 went and his message appeared to get through with Heatley, Hossa and Moller all notching up a pair of goals each while Howie Hole had a nice rebound effort stopping all 24 Victory shots for his first playoff shutout. Perhaps game 1 was just rookie nerves from the young netminder but game 2 proved he is capable of carrying this team.

As for the Baby Beefs they also sit at a 1-1 tie so far. Game 1 the Baby Beefs dominated play outshooting the Terrors 33-17 however Tuukka Rask appeared more than up to the task keeping the score at 2-2 by the end of the 3rd period. It didn't take the Baby Beefs to get the winning marker however with Stanley Cupp getting the winner just 34 seconds into the OT period.

In game 2 it was Rasks time to get some revenge as once again the Baby Beefs dominated play after a shaky first period. The Terrors managed to outshoot the Baby Beefs 12-5 in the first but the Baby Beefs stormed back outshooting the Terrors 37-15 over the rest of the game. None of it mattered however with Rask stopping all 42 shots earning his team a 2-0 shutout victory.

Both teams have things to think about as they head on the road. The Beefs appear to have found a winning formula but cannot afford to get complacent as there have been big wins in the past and the Victory will not lay down easy especially at home. The Baby Beefs on the other hand need to solve Rask as he has stopped 73 of 75 shots. Plenty still to come as the playoffs are just getting started!
