Dallas Stars getting new jerseys

If/when we get hockey back on the ice, it will not be long before the Stars are sporting a new look. It has been rumoured ever since Gaglardi took over that there would at least be a new 3rd jersey and the other day there was some news that team executives had been shown a new design. Last night Gaglardi confirmed in a radio interview that they are looking at a new jersey and possibly new logo.

Now I don't mind the idea of a new jersey/logo but my main concern is Razor tweeted a potential new design last year that was red white and blue. It was just his idea for a design rather than anything official but it did piss off a lot of fans. The colours would fit with the rest of the Dallas area teams if they went with a blue design but many fans feel very attached to the green gold and black scheme the Stars have had. I really hope the design doesn't involve a major colour change as I would rather not be the Dallas Red Stars or Dallas Starnucks......

Either way I am excited to see what the change looks like.

The thing that Gaglardi said about the logo in his inteview was that he didn't like the fact that we were the only team that didn't use it's primary logo on the front of the jersey. I think he was forgetting the Rangers but I see his point!

Er the away one is a bit Washington Caps. The home one is a bit Colgate triple stripe toothpaste.

Those are horrid. I like the idea of having all the teams from one city wear the same colour like in NY, but at the same I'd hate having all my sports merch in the same colour. That's why I only support two NY teams.

I can understand the reasoning behind the thought in trying to rebuild a fanbase that has been decimated by ownership issues and poor performance on the ice. But that said I don't like it at the expense of basically spitting in the face of the history of the franchise. If they go back to the old North Stars green I will be happy....those jerseys were awesome!

Good job you don't support the Boston teams then

Bruins: black and gold
Red Sox: blue and red
Celtics: green and white
Patriots: red, white & blue

I can't imagine the Bruins or Celtics deciding to switch to red, white and blue so that they match the other teams. (I did like the Bruins green practice jerseys they wore for St Patrick's Day last year. And the Red Sox usually wear green for St Pat's during spring training and it looks good)
