Injury bug hits again

Just as the Penguins thought their injury crisis was getting better, they were hit by the news that James Neal and Jordan Staal would both miss significant time with a broken foot and a torn MCL respectively. With both Craig Adams and Arron Asham suffering with knee problems, and Sid and Letang on long term IR with concussions (rumours that both have been shut down for the season are starting to surface), this puts the Penguins in a precarious position 8th in the conference.
Will this be the first time since 2007 that the Penguins miss out on the playoffs, or will Bylsma use some of his coaching magic to keep them in the hunt. Personally I think we can still get there, but it is going to take a strong team effort and possibly a bit of wheeling and dealing from Ray Shero to help us. Players like Malkin, Kennedy, Kunitz, Martin and Niskanen (yes that's right, Matt Niskanen) have to step up and earn every two points as if every loss means elimination.

The pens really have been hit badly this season. Shows just how incredible they are that they still remain in the play-off hunt.

Oh and Niskanen might also be out as well, sorry sport!

Unbelievable bad luck. A lot rests on Malkin's shoulders! I'd love thePens to make the playoffs, purely to show what great depth and coaching they have. Good luck mate!

That is some rotten luck indeed. I thought we had injury issues but they pale in comparison
