Re: Film recommendations please!
I Loved Friday Night Lights. In fact I just enjoy watching sports films full stop. They're either very very good or utterly dreadful. Escape to Victory definitely falls into the latter category. As does that pile of pooh starring Sean Bean as a football player.
I was nebbing across the aisle on the plane to the UK last week. A guy was watching Goon on his iPad. Looks good.

I downloaded Goon the other week. Haven't got round to watching it yet.

Have you seen Remember The Titans, Invincible, We Are Marshall or Friday Night Lights?
As for my recommendations, Wicker Park, The Butterfly Effect & The Joneses are all good movies I enjoyed.
I shall side with my Francophile friend here and second the choice for Remember the Titans, good film.

I watched The Next Three Days and it was great. I also recently watched Vantage Point, and would recommend that too. Although, I couldn't stop thinking 'Jack Shepherd'?

I don't normally care for sports films but a decent one I saw recently enough was Moneyball with Brad Pitt.

Oooh a few more titles to add to the list! I liked Vantage Point although wasn't much of a fan of the Butterfly Effect.
Also watched Gran Torino last night, another excellent recommendation.

When Saturday Comes...
Might I also suggest 'Unstoppable' and the most excellent 'Frequency' with Jim Caviezeilvielezieviel.

IronSky. It is about Space Nazis and is apparently awful.

I think I saw this movie at the cinma about 3 years ago. Is it a Peter Jackson?
If that is the one I liked it.

Yep that's the one Buff.
I think Mystic River is up next for me (love Dennis Lehane's books, but have never seen the films based on them).

I have fan boys at home to watch, looks pretty funny. I am most excited for Life of Pi and the Hobbit (obviously!)
Re: Film recommendations please!
Yeah, Life of Pi looks interesting. I'm half way through the book, and I need to finish reading it before I go and see the film. Trouble is, I keep getting sidetracked by rather less cerebral books.
Is the Hobbit the entire book, or have they split it into two separate films?
Went to see Skyfall last week (best bits were the Aston Martin, and Bucheill Etive Mor). Will not be going to see Twilight.

Re: Film recommendations please!
The Life of Pi book was awesome, one of the few books that didn't take me months to read haha.
The Hobbit is actually going to be a trilogy but from what I have read, the book will mostly cover the first 2 movies with the 3rd being made from the appendices. Not seen anything official on what is included in which film though.
Skyfall was awesome and Twilight......yeah me neither

A trilogy? Blimey, I hadn't realised that.
Toying with going to see Anna Karenina, but can't stand Keira Knightley.

Re: Film recommendations please!
Hadn't even heard of that one apparently it has already been out....
On the Hobbit they are titled An Unexpected Journey, The Desolation of Smaug and There and Back Again. So there's that. I hope I don't have to wait until the third to see the battle of five armies!

Anna karenina was surprisingly good! I can see my cineworld card being abused a lot for the hobbit!

Yes the Hobbit is to be a trilogy. Life of Pi looks boring as a film but interesting as a book. I prefer not to bother myself with the existence of Twilight.

Damn. I might have to go and see it (that "fuck off, you're going on your own" you can hear, is Mr C). Does it do what all the other films and TV series have done, and end with the scene at the train station (desparately trying to avoid spoilers here even though I'm pretty certain everyone knows the ending) or does it stick to the book and carry on after that with all the boring bits about farming?

Best part of Fan Boys is Kristen Bell and at the end she wears a Princess Leia costume.
Re: Film recommendations please!
Just watched Looper.
Time travel and Bruce Willis. What's not to like?
