Head Coaches FINISHED
I mentioned to a few of you last night about this and for the people who do not know, there will be a 1 round draft to select a head coach. Each head coach has his own set of stats that also impact the team. As this is only one round this will simply be done in this thread in the order below and I will email you out the list in a few minutes to allow you to decide who you want in control of your team. Once again this order was decided by a random number generator as in the previous draft and division orders.
Coaching draft:
1: Forerunners - Claude Julien
2: Espoo Gooch - Todd McLellan
3: Moose Jaw Giraffes - Paul Maurice
4: Vancouver Canucks - Dan Bylsma
5: Fairytale Buttercups - Mike Babcock
6: Duck a l'orange - Peter DeBoer
7: Dyslexia Untied - Brent Sutter
8: Stevenage Beefs - Joel Quenneville
9: Super Sheep - Lindy Ruff
10: Canterbury Crusaders - Ron Wilson
11: Watford Capitals - Bruce Boudreau
12: Nottingham Penguins - John Stevens
13: Fumblesaurus Rex - Cory Clouston
14: Boston Shamrocks - Barry Trotz
15: Bearded Badgers - Alain Vigneault
16: Broadway Blueshirts - John Tortorella
17: Leicester Devils - Dave Tippett
18: Sunderland Avs - Jack Lemaire
19: Knights of Columbus - Ken Hitchcock
20: Slip End Bumnotes - Jim Playfair

You can be assistant Ronnie and Driz, you could always just plump for Jim Playfair for pure comedy value
Re: Head Coaches FINISHED
Hey, Homer what about our farm teams? Think it's going to kill me to do another full draft!

Yeah me too, we were discussing it last night. I need to see what options I have for the simulator but I think for the farms I might just get the sim to do an auto draft on them. That way we can get underway towards the end of next week.
Re: Head Coaches FINISHED
I think a random draft sounds like a good idea. But let's not be too hasty to start the season...I'm off on a short holiday on the first week of May!

Auto draft seems good to me, otherwise we'll be looking at another month! And I was looking forward to picking Paarjavi-Svensonn or whatever his name is - I charge by the letter on my replica shirt sales and I've got Bobby Ryans new contract to pay for !

Re: Head Coaches FINISHED
What I will do is simply use all the rookies that have not been included so far in the entry draft after season 1. That way you will all get the chance to draft Tavares/Swedish-dudewithreallylongnamesson all you like.
On a side note, has everyone downloaded the league software? You will need it at some point next week!

The links are already on the forum here https://606hl.forumotion.co.uk/league-chat-f32/preparation-for-league-t22.htm#61
Marc, I am using reverse order for farm teams so wanted the coaching draft to be completely random and seperate from the other drafts.

I want Ron Wilson..I have an old, big and expensive D and intend to trade away all my forwards and draft picks for a packet of chocolate digestives.

Re: Head Coaches FINISHED
How does the coaches stats affect your team? If you are strong defensively does a defensive coach make you better or if you are a weak will a defensive coach fill in the gaps?

Re: Head Coaches FINISHED
Hey hands off he's mine
Paddy, it can work both ways. A defence minded coach would improve the play of a weak defence but it depends on what you see more valuable, improving your weaknesses or maximising your strengths. Just like in real life there is no black and white answer to what coach is best, it is a matter of you deciding if you think trying to get a balance of offense and defence is going to beat a team that is coming at you all guns blazing while leaving holes at the back.
Remember, just like the players you are choosing a coach for life, you can fire and hire new coaches as the seasons go on.

Also there is a forum on the simulator here http://sths.simont.info/Forum/viewforum.php?f=9
If any of you are bored or just fancy a read then have a look at some of the discussions. You might stumble across some useful tips to managing your team!

Not decided yet, but if the person with Pick 1 doesn't get a chuffing move on, my team may never get a coach!
