Divisions and conferences

Here they are at last. The divisions were created by using a random number generator here http://www.random.org/ using the numbers next to the teams in the team list. Teams were then placed one per division until all places filled.

Here are the results:

How about you name the divisions/conferences with hockey-themed names? Something along the lines of naming them after some of the former greats such as Orr, Gretzky, Howe and Lemieux etc.

That sounds like a good idea Ronnie! Gretzky and Lemieux could be the Conference names with another 4 as Divisions?

Well maybe we could have ex-player names for divisions and then something different for the conferences - otherwise could be confusing! I'm stumped at this point in time to come up with a conference title but I'm sure we can come up with a name.

What about the conferences being the North American and the Eurasian, then the divisions named after the greats from those two hockey powerhouses.

N. American Conf. Gretzky Div
N. American Conf. Lemieux Div
Eurasian Conf. Fedorov Div
Eurasian Conf. Jagr Div

The only problem I foresee is both Fedorov and Jagr are selectable in the Sim League, so we may have to rename those divisions....

How about Eurasian Conf. Bure Division and Eurasian Conf. Hand Division

Hand? Of that powerhouse GB? That Hand? Anthony? Ok, he's GB's greatest player ever, but on a par with Bure, Gretzky and Lemieux? Pushing it a little don't you think? What about Bure and Larionov?

When they get 4000 pts, they can be compared to Tony.

One would hazard to suggest if Mr Bure were playing in the British National league, he would have scored a fair few. I would say more even than Tony. But if you want the divisions named after British hockey players, may I suggest Hand, Lyle, Longstaff and Tait? Although keep Tait and Lyle in seperate conferences, unless you call it the Sugar Conference!

Why would you want a division named after Warren Tait?

Warren Tait, Paul Hand, Kevin Lyle and erm err oh bugger can't think of a dodgy Longstaff!
