Tonight will see the debut of 4 players that hope to play a vital part in the future of the Beefs.

Yesterday saw the completion of the biggest trade in Beefs history and one that took a lot of work to finalise. 'We have been in conversation with Buffon (new GM of the Victory, formally Avs) since the day he entered the league' said GM Homer. 'We see Heatley as the vital piece this team has been missing all season and after being shut down by the previous GM we were eager to re-open talks with the new owner and find out what the new price would be'.

That price, it turns out, was high but not too high for the Beefs. 'We are obviously very sad to see some big parts of our organisation leave, particularly in Pavel Datsyuk who was our 1st ever draft selection.' Pavel played a huge role for the Beefs, despite the fact that his numbers didn't always show it. He played in all situations, PP/PK and even strength and did it all. The team is hoping Stastny can come in and fill that void as a defensive forward. 'We are going to move forward initially with Stastny replacing Datsyuk as the #1 centre as we don't want to mess with the outstanding chemistry Richards has developed with Cullen on the 2nd line.' Richards will likely see some powerplay time aloneside Heatley but for now the Beefs look to continue with Heatley - Stastny and Cullen - Richards as the pairings that have both shown great success on the scoresheets.

Another player who has big shoes to fill is Alex Edler as he comes in as close to a direct replacement for the departing Dennis Seidenberg. ' Dennis was our main penalty killer and a huge presence on D so we will look to all the other players to step up and take some of that weight on their shoulders.'

Tune in for tonights matchups that see the new Beefs face their old team in the Victory. The Beefs biggest trade is going to get its biggest test in its first game, do not miss it!
