So that's just over a third of the season cancelled. They may as well put us out of our misery and cancel then entire thing.

How many games did they play the last time there was a shortened season?

Forty-eight? Not worth lacing 'em up for that. Which poor saps won the cup that year. (yes I know I could look it up but I'm lazy).

The Toronto Maple Leafs. No not buying that? OK it was the Vancouver Canucks. Well of course you didn't buy that one either. New Joysey beat Dirtroit in the final.

But half a cup is better than none I suppose.

This Mayan calender thing is more about a new era than the end of the world so I am going to suggest the 21st of Dec is actually the day a new CBA is signed and Bettman/Fehr are both fired.

Hey it is about as likely as the end of the world right? Rolling Eyes

Players bitch about how the NHL should honour the contracts, then you have players like Brassard walking out on their team in Europe instead of honouring the contract.

Players bitch about how tough it is then you get Evander Kane taking pictures with stacks of money most people would dream of.

And they wonder why fans are becoming more and more against them?

Read last night about Toews comments as well, true or not he isn't the only one to have made comments about the way of life in European leagues. Talk about having a sense of entitlement to bitch about a job you took from someone else because you are being greedy and wont get a deal done in your league.

And it looks like we're nearing the cut off date for canceling the entire season. Wish they'd just hurry up and do it. Greedy bastards.

It seems that the NHL has caved in to pretty much everything the PA has asked for recently and yet still they won't deal. Jerks. Plenty of time to make a deal yet but still can;t see it happening.

Just reading some of the terms, i like that the draft lottery will now mean all 14 teams that didn't make the playoffs could get number 1 pick!

Ayup, Eklund.

That lottery thing is BS. Worst team should have #1, 2nd worst #2 etc etc. Making a team who maybe missed the playoffs on the last day due to an OT loss get the 1st overall pick is wack.

Heard the season to be 48-50 games all in conference. I'd say 50 games and have 5 vs each division opp. and 3 vs everyone else.

Got you a season though didn't it.

You should know that if I say something the opposite will likely happen. This is why Beef begs me to tell him Benn is leaving the Stars.

Say what you want about Bettman....at least he has had the balls to come out and personally apologise.

Wonder if Mr Fehr will do likewise as despite what some people might think, this lockout isn't just Bettmans doing.

I read that it was run by a separate company or something so isn't his to give away for free. Also someone pointed out the lag brought on with a free service could make it unwatchable. As long as it is sufficiently discounted I will consider it.

Yeah, I thought it was quite gutsy of Bettman to do that. And yes, Fehr had better do the same.
