Most gut wrenching moment.
So given what happened last night to me, I thought I would find out what other stories you all had. What moment always sticks in your mind as one of the most awful, painful and downright soul destroying moments you experienced when following your team?
For me, last night ranked right up there with the meltdown the other week against the Kings and the goal scored by Henrik Sedin in the 4th OT of game 1 in 2007. Let's not forget the 5th OT winner in 2003 against those damn Ducks again in game 1 scored by Sykora.

You may be surprised by this, but as gut-wrenching as last year's playoff exit to the Flyers was; the exit to the Canes the previous year was even worse. The B's had finished top of the Eastern Conference, just missing out on the Presidents Trophy and had swept the Habs in the first round. Then they just inexplicably lost their momentum. Aaron Ward got sucker-punched by Scott Walker. Walker wasn't suspended and promptly scored the winning goal to take the Canes through to the next round. I nearly cried. And I wanted to give David Krejci a big hug. The poor guy just looked totally distraught.

Being beaten by the Pens in game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, by a one goal margin, and a faceoff in the Pittsburgh end, with the Detroit goalie pulled.
8 seconds of awful realisation.

My mates in the UK have asked me if I've drafted my 'heart-breaking game 7 loss' email to them yet. Ha bloody ha.
