Razors case for 4 on 4 hockey.
As I mentioned the other day, Razor mentioned he would provide a case for 4 on 4 hockey in regulation. He has now posted that and he does make some valid points.

He does make some very valid point and I certainly agree that it would likely see a reduction in concussions because there would likely be less hitting. However I do not like the idea of moving away from 5 on 5 hockey. I like seeing teams battle away in the corners and with 4 on 4 there will be less of this as there is less puck support. It may prove for some very exciting and high scoring affairs but I think it cheapens the whole affair somewhat.
What do you guys think on this subject?

Agree totally - for exactly your reasons. It's fun for 5 minutes of OT and after coincidental penalties but an entire match? Hockey doesn't have to be about end to end rushes and numerous points....it isn't basketball. I enjoy the tough, low scoring games with lots of board play and dump and chase. Too much razzle dazzle will spoil the game.

Exactly, it isn't like we don't see any fancy moves. There are highlight reel plays on a daily basis and like you said it makes the more open play more entertaining if it is only seen in OT and on coincidental penalties. Too much of a good thing can be bad.

Word for word what Ronnie said. Four on four is fun to watch for OT, but that's it.
