MY Dilemma
I'm really worried that there won't be an NFL season this year, and I don't know what to do about it

Re: MY Dilemma
not looking good is it? Where will they all go and play? At least when the NHL had the lock-out, the players could all clear off to Europe.

No-one else cares, CJ! I will have to cry on your shoulder the whole of next autumn.

"Hut-hut" cries the quarterback as 22 men in military issue body armour grunt and heave and pile on top of each other. After 3 and half seconds the debris is impressive but as the dust clears it becomes apparent that the ball has moved just 1 piffling yard closer to the opposition's endzone. And then after a change of personel and an ad-break they go through the whole rigamarole 2 minutes later.
And you wonder why people don't care?!

Yeah, no-one
Hey, when 111 million people watch one hockey game, then you can say what you just said Ronnie

Re: MY Dilemma
Sure, cause there is an abundance of 111 million seater stadiums around, eh?

Re: MY Dilemma
I like the NFl and follow (loosely) Miami but I find it to be like the next door neighbours wife, a passing fancy. Every now and then I go back for a fumble until I get a touchdown but it's not enough to sustain my interest.

I would feel that way too if I supported the Dolphins.

Re: MY Dilemma
For me a sport where my team competes for only 17 weeks of the year means it is hard to follow and sustain an interest. I know that part of the negotiations for the new CBA include extending the season to 18 regular season games (so 19 weeks) but it still feels a bit short lived. I kind of forget about the NFL for most of the year and so I got in the NHL instead to fill the gap. Then it just sort of took over.

My humour is far too subtle for you, Jonzee....

Just say what you mean, Buff - it's pointless sh*t.

Nah, I love a bit of sarcasm, mate. Anyway, I don't dislike the sport but I've always thought its a little telling that nowhere else in the world plays it to any sort of level. The Superbowl has had great marketing and PR over the years and draws in a huge audience but how many of those watchers were there in week 3 watching the Seahawks play the Chiefs...
