More problems in phoenix?
So it appears that the leagues grand plan to keep the coyotes in phoenix is sinking faster than the titanic! Whilst its a shame as I think teams should be given a chance to stay where they are, it does appear that a city with a greater hockey market should benefit from having a nhl team

Pretty good article on the latest developments!
As a side note, how would the divisions be split up if the team was to move to Winnipeg?

Would they return as the 'Jets'?
Phoenix has done ok as a franchise. It's just a shame that the financial situation is so rubbish. I know a couple of Coyotes fans, and they both say they'd be gutted if the team left Glendale.

You could probably move Avalanche to the pacific and then the Coyotes would move to the North West.
Re: More problems in phoenix?
Stupid question incoming...from an idiot, with little knowledge of hockey history!!!
Winnipeg have already had a franchise, which failed. Why do people think that moving the Yotes back to Winnipeg, is the answer? Surely its once again...out of the frying pan into the fire!!!!

I do see what you mean Driz and I still wonder if it can work. However don't forget that Minnesota lost a team due to dwindling numbers and a struggling franchise but were given the Wild as an expansion and sold out 409 straight home games so it can be done.

I can't find the article now but I read somewhere the other week that Atlanta have till the end of the regular season to find a local buyer or they will be relocated with Kansas city and Quebec the two favourites to land a team!

Re: More problems in phoenix?
Winnipeg never had a problem getting bums on seats it was the rising ratio of the $US > $CA that did for them. The economics have swung back a bit so maybe it is now viable... but you never know when it might swing the other way.
Either way I would be happy to see the Jets back! I think if I had been free to choose my own team I would have ended up a Jets fan

Teemu signing another 1-year contract and going up against the Jets! Nice. As Homer says, moving the Avs into the Pacific seems to make the most sense if the Yotes did go back home.
