Three quarter stats
Once again, the numbers don't make good reading for the Edmonton Oilers, but they make excellent reading for the high-flying Vancouver Canucks. With representatives in the highest scorers, most assists, and best +/- it's no wonder the Canucks have most points, and most goals.
Tim Thomas continues his excellent form, and has consistently topped botht the GAA and the Save percentage tables from the beginning of the season.
The Pittsburgh Penguins seem happy to take as many penalty minutes as they need, and their top penalty kill does beg the question "Do they have a great PK, or simply get a lot of chances to kill penalties?"
Finally, for the Oilers it's pretty clear where they're falling down. They're not lacking in scoring, nor lacking in defense, as they're neither the least scorers or the worst conceders, but they do have problems with special teams, as they are running the worst PP and the worst PK units in the league.

Re: Three quarter stats
The size difference between Chara and Gerbe is frightening
Wellwood must be on a diet eh welshmapleleaf? lol

Re: Three quarter stats
Huh, great stat for McElhinney. I knew his figures plummeted over the last few games but maybe not to that extent. He was close to 0.92% not so long ago.
And Gustavsson..4 wins in 21 starts...lol!

Re: Three quarter stats
Ahh, I never get tired of Kyle Wellwood fat jokes.
I'm sure it was Gerbe (but it could have been Gionta) who was penalised the other week for a headshot on Chara. Even as a Bruins fan, I was impressed with the effort he put into it.

That doesn't deserve a penalty it deserves a reward!

After the headshot, did Gerbe he climb down with snow on his shoulders?!

Re: Three quarter stats
what makes my laugh it the fact that the leafs have traded away some medium minute guys and replaced them with marlies players, and yet we
seemed to improve... and don't we now have about 50 draft picks now?
maybe burkie is trying to win the minors playoffs next year???
I know he's gonna use them off season, but hey, its a bit worrying that our already struggling team is losing established/experienced players in the final stages of a season that could be rescued.
hopefully off season trades will be a bit more, um, fruitful for the now, rather than the future!

Re: Three quarter stats
Really hope so - all the comments recently are talking about how the future looks so bright with the prospects on the farm and the picks etc etc - and in reality, we've come a long way this season.
Just would love some success sooner rather than much later!!!

Re: Three quarter stats
No. We gave the Rangers super John Mitchell so that we can have Brad Richards beef. You must understand this.
