Division name change causes confusion
Hockey: a tough, rugged sport played by men. At least that was the belief amongst Francophone fans of the sport in the Grand Duchy. Confusion reigned as the league announced its re-branding and locals were baffled that the Ducks have been scheduled to play in the "Brin d'amour" ("a little bit of love") division. Surely such an outbreak of brotherly love amongst the club and its rivals was against the spirit of the sport? Pascal, 13 and junior fanclub member summed up the mood "We don't mind the Badgers, Beefs and Buttercups and as we always beat them, we actually like the Victory - but love?! That's so gay."
Club spokesman, the phlegmatic Mr Koch however assuaged some of the resentment at a recent club benefit evening stating "It's actually been named after...ahem...hockey legend Rod Brind'amour and rest assured those attending our home games will still be able to watch boxing at its finest - with an occasional game of hockey breaking out".
