Season Review
Divison winners, 3rd in the league and 2nd round of the playoffs being eliminated by the eventual winners. It was a surprisingly successful season when you remember the Shamrocks had the last pick in the draft in the first season of the 606 Hockey League. A year in which Ryan Miller established himself as the unofficial best keeper in the regular season even if his stats faltered in the later stages when playoff qualification was secured. It was a year for youth for the Shamrocks with career best seasons for Stephen Weiss and James Wisniewiski alongside a Bobby Hull cup winning year for Dan Sexton. While some of the stars on the roster faltered they also did their part alongside the bright youngsters Mark Streit lead from the blueline and Simon Gagne won the Bishops Finger award for the best plus minus even though he had a role on both specialty teams. As the second season of the league draws nearer it will certainly be interesting to see what the Shamrocks can do with their ability already proven. The Shamrocks GM has promised movement but has stressed that he has a winning forumla with the improving and already impressive youngsters alongside the veteran performers with Ryan Miller in goal it would be surprising if the Shamrocks werent challenging for playoff honours again next season.
