Team Finances

When the league realigned a couple of seasons ago, it caused a few issues with team finances. There are settings in the sim to adjust this, but it’s not really possible to do accurately without properly set rosters. In order to get this side of the sim working again, at the start of season 8, all team finances will be set to an equal amount (Im not sure what this amount will be yet). It is likely that I will reset all teams to an equal amount at several point during the season as and when I make changes to these settings.

For season 8, you don’t need to worry about your team making or losing money. However, I expect the settings to be correct for the start of season 9. From season 9 onwards, any team that goes into a negative balance will lose their highest paid player to Free Agency. It is important that you all consider this before season 8 free agency, as inflated free agency prices could have an impact on your budget next season.

I am aware of a few teams that have actively made trades in order to keep their team profitable. The only way the sim can run fairly is if the finance side of the sim is used properly. We want to avoid teams having farms full of players who are ready for the pros, and encourage trading.
