This is definitely one way to win fans
Jonzee knows how much I love Antoine Roussel. He came up to the NHL and after a flashy first goal earned his place on the team by doing basically what had earned Steve Ott the fan favourite title. He gave all he had every time he stepped on the ice and despite mostly limited ice time managed to agitate with the best of them and put up a decent number of points (one of the highest per 60 mins on the team).
To add to this, at the weekend there was a little Twitter exchange between him and a fan he "promised" that he would not be changing from number 60. The Stars made a few players change to lower numbers and Roussel will be taking 21 next year so this fan tweeted to Roussel that he lied to him. He later said to Roussel that he was only joking but never the less, here was Roussels reply.
After the guy said he was joking Roussel said he would still honour his promise. A beast on the ice and a fan first player off it, what's not to like.

1/3 @oconnor9sean @DallasStars Sean, I been ask to change, wasn't my idea! So is for other guy! I'm really sorry if I mislead u and others.
2/3 @oconnor9sean so for those who bought my jersey with 60 last year, I'll cover the change for 21, which is my BirthDay date!
3/3 I wish u guys understand! Also wish everyone a good end of summer! #jerseyChange #IsItOctoberYet #missBigD

I like to look over that little fact
Re: This is definitely one way to win fans
It's a better way to gain fans than some ridiculous publicity stunt...like signing a singer from One Direction. How Doncaster Rovers have any pride left, I don't know!
It's be like the Coyotes signing Justin Beiber to try and get more fans.

Hahahaha they really did that? I wouldn't put it past the NHL to try something like that though.

It could be a double PR move. Doncaster get more fans and for Louis, well how do I put it, whenever I've seen a One Direction video he looks the most gay.

Not watched by choice. And I only know his name after the article posted above. Honest.

Keep digging Sunshine!
I am proud to say that I can't name any of the chaps in One Direction, nor can I name any of their hit records. In fact the only time I've taken any notice of them is when they popped up on my TV in an advert with Drew Brees.
Yes, I am rapidly heading towards becoming a high court judge.

Well, when I say not voluntarily it's not like I didn't instantly turn it off either. They have a couple of, dare I say, catchy tunes.
Damn. There's no tumbleweed emoticon.

I think they released one recently called (rather arrogantly) "Best Song Ever".
Personally, the fact it's by One Direction makes it an instant paradox.

Is it wrong or right that I hadn't even heard of them until they performed at the closing ceremony for the Olympics?
Come to think of it..... that is probably the reason I thought the closing ceremony was a bit shit.

Does the testosterone level in this place always drop during the off-season??
The sooner you're all talking about beer and hockey again, the better.

I was in Holmes Chapel the other day and a local told me that the lead singer of The Direction grew up there.

It's ok CJ. The Premier League starts next week. I should have fully charged testosterone levels by then.

You mean this "local" had the gall to suggest someone in One Direction has grown up?BuffonIdol wrote:I was in Holmes Chapel the other day and a local told me that the lead singer of The Direction grew up there.
