Deslauriers out for a month

Half way through the 2nd period against the Meat Surprise last night the Beefs got a surprise of their own when 2 time all star netminder Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers left the game because of back spasms. The team doctors expect him to be out for the best part of the next month with stands to cause the Beefs a few headaches.

Deslauriers had lost the starting job to rookie Howie Hole however had provided a solid backup to the young star. With Carey Price and Miikka Kiprusoff both requiring waivers in order to be called up and sent down with lengthy stays the team has called up 30 year old rookie Matt Climie to backup Hole. Climie who has been with the team since day one has not started a game for either pro or farm team and without that safety net Hole appeared shaky letting in 7 against the Boston Shamrocks.

Where the team goes from here has not been decided but it has shaken what was a very confident group just 2 days ago.
