Colombia Steves trades and signings
The Colombia Steves are pleased to announce the the signing of D-man Ryan Parent. GM Iggy knows Ryan well, having spent last season managing him for The Flaming Ducks. Forward Andrew Ladd goes the other way, and has joined the Bedford Brewers. GM Iggy had the folowing to say:
"We wish Andrew the best, and hope he can find some success with the Brewers. Ryan is a guy I know well, and believe he adds strength to an already talented pool of players here. There are three D places up for graps on the pro team this year, Ryan will get an oppertunity to show that hes ready to step up to the big time during training camp."
Steves, will now begin preperations for tonights draft. The team have four picks and will pick 7th, 22nd, 27th and 34th.

Re: Colombia Steves trades and signings
Jacques Lemaire has been signed by the Brian Dinosaurs after John Anderson's contract was bought out.
GM Iggy had the following to say:
"John has helped to develop are offence and we have some great goal scorers coming through the system. We now feel it is important for these same players to spend some time developing their defensive skills in preparation for being called up to the main roster.
Obviously I have worked with Jacques in the past when he coached the Flaming Ducks. Jacques has a history of getting the best out of his players and he is looking forward to starting training camp with an exciting young group of players."
GM Iggy has had plenty of dealings with his former team. Ryan Strome, Ryan Parent, Bob Ring and now Jacques Lemaire have all made the move over to the Colombia Steves.

Re: Colombia Steves trades and signings
I mostly signed him because I like saying "Jacques"
In fact, our coaching team will now be known as "The Jacques Lemaire experiance"!

Re: Colombia Steves trades and signings
Colombia Steves have had a few struggles over the last few weeks and their lead at the top of the division is down to one point. GM J-Iggy has made a big trade in hopes of addressing this and maintaining the teams push for the playoffs. Mike Cammallari was acquired from the St Louis Spirit in exchange for David Booth and a late pick. Cammallari is expected to slot into the 2nd line centre position with Brayden Schenn called up from the Farm to play on his left wing. J-Iggy made the following comments:
David has been solid for us and his goals have been important. Looking at our long term plans one of our wingers had to go. Unfortunately Davids age and cap hit made him the obvious choice. With Brayden stepping up and playing on the wing as we had always projected he would, it gives Strom and Kerdiles the ice team they need to develop so they can one day replace the two Mikes currently centering our top lines. We now have a solid and experienced middle with Fisher, Cammy and Antrapov and some talented young wingers on both the pro and farm teams. Schenn, Perron, Hansen, Nail, Nino and Ring are all capable of fitting the top six role, and lets not forget Shane Doan. With a little bit more time and development we hope to become a real challenger for the cup.

So you get someone older with bigger cap hit?

Yes i see how that sounds. Cammallari is being moved to centre though so it frees up a spot for Brayden Schenn who is cheaper and younger. This is what i mean...
