Sandwiches
Come on, own up. Everyone has the sandwiches that make others want to gag, so what's your favourite bizarre sandwich?
I'm a fan of both Peanut Butter and Cheese, and I also enjoy a good Wotsit sandwich...

Re: Sandwiches
We were just talking about sandwiches in the sand(wich)box... I've just had all day breakfast (with brown sauce for those who are interested)
I really love a good cheese and salad cream sandwich. Also steak and peanut butter butty is a finger licker!

Re: Sandwiches
I'm good with cheese and salad cream.....and I have yet to find any flavour crisp that doesn't go well in between 2 slices.
I have to admit though, on occasions...Rich tea biscuit sandwiches hit the spot.

Re: Sandwiches
Peanut butter and thinly sliced pickled onion is an occasional treat for me. Also partial to banana and Nutella sandwiches, and of course Driz is correct in his assertion about using crisps - usually Doritos chez CJ.

Cheese, Marmite, Crisps (cheese and onion or ready salted), Ham, pickled onion and a fried egg. Topped with an olive if you want to be posh about it.
Also, cauliflower cheese and chip sandwiches are spot on.

Re: Sandwiches
Think I've got the weirdest.
When there's no meat in the fridge I've often opted for the ketchup and mayonnaise sandwich.
There's a cheese and wine shop 30 seconds from my front door called The Cheese Kitchen and they make the best tuna and cheese melt paninis.

Yeah, me too! The grotty pub I used to frequent when I worked in Hinkley made the most fabulous chip 'n cheese cobs.
I tried explaining Salad Cream to my American colleagues. They didn't seem very impressed.

I think because the conversation included the word salad.

Re: Sandwiches
I must confess to taking a very conservative attitude to my sandwich fillings. None of the above appeal to me. I did once run low on food supplies and was forced to improvise a dinner of a scrambled egg baguette. It seemed to me like it could be nice. It wasn't. Wrong on many levels...

Re: Sandwiches
An idea taken from the BBC website of all places.... a toast sandwich! Not a toasted sandwich but a slice of toast between two slices of bread with a dollop of sauce be it mayo, BBQ, ketchup whatever

I used to make fried bread sandwiches..and add a dollop of Branston.
The thing is, I used to be a boy scout. Our leaders insisted that bread and butter was available at all meal times, which meant you had a quick and easy way to stop your food getting cold....slam it in betwwn the 2 slices.
Pie, mash and pea sandwiches......oh the taste of youth
